It's not the residents, though; it's the unwashed no-vaxxer hordes coming to visit and lose their money. The Nevada government should enact and enforce a mandate that only vaccinated visitors are allowed. As a practical matter, this could mean that individual casinos check vaccination status and refuse entry to the unvaccinated. There could also be a checkpoint at the airport. This would slow the flood of the unvaccinated to a trickle.

Also, if some numbnuts has decided to risk his/her life rather than get a free and almost effortless vaccination, I doubt that the chance of winning $100 or whatever is going to be sufficient incentive. After all, Tucker Carlson et al are still screaming that the vaccine will turn you into a robot slave, or a lizard, or something.

It really has to happen county-wide. Obviously the greatest area of interest is going to be the Strip and Resort Corridor properties.

Airport is under federal jurisdiction; however as a separate matter I fully support vaccine passports for flying and I hope the current administration has the balls to do it.

I dont believe the judge. Funny we havent heard of any signficant number of children actually dying because they couldnt get an ICU room. We only hear about what horrible things are going to happen because the ICU rooms are full. Also, they had plenty of time to expand capacity from the last COVID surge, so they really have no excuse for running out of space this time if it actually happened.

May I gently point out that death is not the only negative outcome of a child contracting Covid? May I also gently point out that whatever should have been done prior to now is irrelevant? Even if YOU, O Health Expert, say it was inadequate?

Also, if you lack the imagination to think of a scenario where a child might die or suffer serious consequences because he/she couldn't be immediately treated in an ICU, well...the judge did spell that out for you.

This is the insanity we're dealing with nowadays from these people, on a daily basis.

Doctors say Y. "I don't believe the doctors"

Scientists say Z. "I don't believe the scientists"

Meanwhile, the people they DO believe are just random crackpots on youtube or twitter with zero medical training or expertise.

IMO it's literally impossible to reason with people like this, because their confidence in their misinformed opinions doesn't come in spite of it contradicting those of the professionals - it's because of it.

This is an odd one, though. I guess I can kind of understand someone not believing the the science because they don't understand it. This is simply a, "we don't have any beds.", claim. There is no reasoning involved. You just don't agree with anyone that goes against what you believe?

I would say this is absolutely what it is. Whether it's scientists/doctors/judges/experts/whoever - if they say anything that contradicts what these people think, it's automatically dismissed as fake, or the numbers are fudged, or it's part of a conspiracy.

This is why facts/numbers from credible sources mean nothing to them either, since that data is just an indication that this is part of an even bigger conspiracy to hide the 'real truth'.
