The grind is in full effect. Into the game for $600 and currently sitting on $450. Was down $300 at low point.

The cooler roller coaster continues. Lost $200 when I rivered top 2 pair vs a flush. Then won $120 of that back when my top pair out kicked someone. Finally switched tables down $251. Will try to spin it up.

My new seat/table lets me more clearly see inside Bobby’s Room and it looks like John Hennigan and David Grey are playing in there.

Unfortunately, switching tables didn’t work as I ran Jacks into Queens and got stacked. Bellagio beat me up today for $1K, first in a morning craps session and now in an evening poker session.

Despite the losses, still having a blast. There is nothing like being in Vegas!

Ended up walking over to the Cosmopolitan and tried Hattie B’s. I got the chicken sandwich and fries and really liked it. Would definitely eat there again.

Feel like I’m running on fumes, so going to head back to Vdara. May head over to Aria for poker if I wake up early.

Slept really well last night-my compliments to Vdara again on a great room/experience. Did a little work this morning and called in to put my name on the Aria 1-3 list. I’m loving the fact that I have 2 hours to check in before losing the
spot. It allowed me the time to get ready, pack up and drop stuff off at the bell desk.

Was planning to only play for a couple hours before dropping my stuff off in the Caesars room (my buddy leaves today). Was hoping that playing after getting good rest would result in a better gambling day.

I won a ~$450 pot within the 1st hour when I flopped trips with 5-6 suited vs what seemed like a big pair.

Further update coming shortly with a more detailed hand history of the biggest pot of the session so far.

I had ~$500 and effective stacks were ~$320. I was in late position with KK, UTG+2 raised $10, 2 players called, then I 3-bet to $40. Initial raiser called and the other 2 players folded. Flop was J-J-blank (maybe 4) with 2 diamonds. I bet $55 and he called. Turn was an A and we both checked. River was another blank, non-diamond (8 I think). He went all in for $216.

After my beating at the Bellagio yesterday were I was coolered a couple times (in addition to lots of bad play on my part to be fair), my initial inclination was just to fold and move on because people don’t usually bluff all in on the river at these stakes, in my experience. But thinking through his possible hand, I don’t think he can have a J that would call a 3-bet pre-flop, even though AJ down to J10 suited are possible. AK diamonds was also possible as that’s the only AK combo realistically calling the flop bet, but I think he would have check-raised on the flop. I also didn’t put him on AA because I think he would have bet smaller to get me to call. So I was basically putting him on a suited J, QQ, or a bluff.

But recreational players like me don’t bluff like that on the river, right? I did notice that when he sat down about a half hour before this hand, that the dealer knew him and was asking where he had been. So then I was thinking that he’s not a tourist fish like me, so maybe more likely to bluff. I held my nose and ended up calling. KK were good!

1st purple chip of the trip.

I ended up trying a cheese pizza slice from Moneyline and it was excellent. 9.1 on the Portnoy scale. In my opinion, it was better than Pizza Rock.

Have been bouncing between $1K and $1200 for the last 1-2 hours. Trying to stay patient and not fall into the trap of fancy playitis that gets me in trouble too often. No hands as interesting as the KK, but lots $40-$80 ones.

Will give it another hour or so to see if I can get break above $1200, else I’ll book the win and head over to Caesars.

Run good has re-ignited. Hit a couple sets, one of the turn and one on the flop. Won ~$150 in both pots. Stack is over $1500 now.

Unfortunately just lost $300 in a flush over flush situation where I think I made the wrong decision on every street. Will write it up and see what you guys think.

Ended up playing for another 15 minutes before cashing out after the guy (was the 2nd biggest stack) that beat me in that hand got up. Ended up winning ~$1100, which is great. But left with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

Headed over to Caesars now. Will either try to play there or at the Wynn.

Playing at Caesars 1-3 game for about 3 hours so far and haven’t been able to get anything going. Am down ~$220, with 1/2 of that loss coming on a 3-barrel bluff vs someone that I should have known not to bluff.

Just switched tables - will see if things improve, else may check out the games at Flamingo or Bally’s.
