What's the etiquette there on either blatantly staring, subtley staring or pretending you're texting on your phone and it just happens to be pointed where they're walking by?

Some friends and I have been considering going up there and starting a 1/1 PLO to play something small, drink, and have a good time. I'll post if/when so others can join if interested. From what I've seen it effectively never goes.

This game is similar to the PHO game. Lots of slow, drunk gamblers ready to get it in with anything.

Too tough for me, especially since I only play once or twice a year (any form of poker). Probably the highest regularly spread limit holdem game in Vegas. There might be bigger games in the high limit room, but they might be mixed games. That should give you an idea of how tough it is.

1. They are mostly too drunk to notice or care.

2. You'd just be one in a crowd doing the same thing.

Haha yes. Bills Gamblin Saloon used to have a 50 cent 1 dollar game, then they got bulldozed and Imperial Palace swooped in and stole the game. Nice to see the Quad has a variant of it. When my non poker buddied are around, I always try to get them into the game. Free drinks and super cheap for nonpoker ppl

Not sure why so many ppl like games where the small blind is the same as the big blind, but whatever. They do it all the time in PLO so they can have an excuse to have a deeper game. If you want a deeper gm, just have a deeper game and keep the blinds the same. But I digress

I think Id rather beat off w barbed wire, live in the sewers, marry a hooker than become a 1/1 Live poker reg.

I remembered clearly sitting in a .50 - 1 game a few years back probably Bills. Geez I frigging near ripped my hair out about 20 minutes into the game. Max pots were no more then $10. Needless to say I went to greener pastures.
Just a note .I really enjoyed the open air games at O sheas Just a very relaxing atmosphere. No hoodies, shades, wannabe donks etc.

Didn't MGM also have .50/$1 for awhile a few years ago?

Yeah I remember playing at like 5am at O'Shea's and seeing some guy just get smashed by a bus across the street

For anyone willing to make the (long, long) drive, the Club Fortune casino in Hender****ingtucky runs a .50/$1 game. I played there a couple of times (cash and tourney) when my wife was out of town. Unbelievably soft. I just couldn't stop running KK into AA.

Darn. I liked the idea of having a lot of hot women to gawk at while playing, especially if I'd be one in a crowd doing the same thing.

Are .50/$1 games pretty much a thing of the past around there too? I don't remember seeing any on Bravo.

I don’t think there’s any left on the Strip. If a room reintroduced it, I’d imagine rake would be the same as 1/2. That means the game either plays as big as 1/2 or isn’t beatable. At least not by much. Basically a drunk fun game where the house takes all the money of the table.
