I saw Steve at the Excalibur on Friday. I was in town from Thursday to Sunday. He was at a 1/2 table in the corner. I thought he looked familiar. The dealer then called him "Steve" and then I figured out over a 10 minute span who he was (only after he got something out of his backpack which was by the spin wheel).

He sat at the end of the table two away from me. He looked irritable. He said nothing, absolutely nothing. He was drinking a Stella and then had nothing after that. Most of us there were tourists and were conversing. He just seemed kind of agitated but berated no one when i was there. He folded most of the time and only played a few hands. I was in one. Steve was the pre-flop raiser but raised small, made it 7 or 8. I called and so did the UTG. I believe the flop was 5-2-J w/2 clubs and the J red. I had A-3 of clubs in the BB. Steve was on the button. He made a pot sized bet so i folded. The UTG called. Turn was a club. Steve bets. UTG goes all in. Steve goes into the tank and folds. Guy shows a K-x of clubs to make a flush. Steve shook his hand up and down as if he was victorious by folding. I left about 15 afterwards for the MGM.

I need to find Steve before The Main Event and get some coaching....

Him finding that fold shows he still has it.

You folded 12 sure outs and an overcard on the flop when you had a chance to stack backpack Steve?? For shame

How can this ever be a fold?

Something doesn't sound right. If I am willing to call a preflop raise of $8 with A3s. I am never folding a St8-FD/FD and a GS for a pot sized bet ($24).

I am thinking may be he had A3 with A of clubs.

Coming back to BP_Steve? Anyone else saw him or conversed with him?

having played with the gentleman several times, the second sentence makes me believe that you are mistaken about the first.

IME, steve is no more capable of doing this than most people are of kissing their elbows. Its not a tendency, its a physiological imperative.

Am I the only one that just tried to kiss both my elbows after reading this?

Wow, Steve is famous. I knew Steve when he lived in San Mateo. He would frequent the YMCA and I would occasionally talk with him in the hot tub. He seemed decent enough for a right winged republican. I didn't know much about him, but we did chat about his poker playing down at Bay 101. He left the area in about 2006 to see if he could make it in Vegas as a poker player. I would occasionally look on line to see how he was doing and saw that he had a nice hit at the Mirage. I frequent vegas often, but I'm not a poker player. I saw him once at the Bellagio sports book. He tried to hit me up for $500. I declined. He told me about his ex-stripper girl friend and I was really impressed. He seemed OK. However, I found him on pokerdeadbeat and think I came across his name for being arrested for passing bad checks, and now I find a whole thread about him on line. It's really sad. he's not young. Probably late 50's. Hasn't worked since I've know him. Addicted big time to playing poker. Where is he going to end up?? Very sad. He needs to turn his life around. Keep me posted about any Steve sightings. I find it interesting.

Cao.

I thought he was banned from CET properties which would include the Rio.

What if he changed his name? Would that work?

Also are property bans permanent or is there some sort of expiration?

Who actually enforces these bans.

This guy and Tony Big Charles should be b.f.f's
Tell me more about Tony Big Charles? Is that an actual person? He has scammed multitudes of people in the seals with clubs chat room I mean at a prolific rate. Thought it was a fake name.

Nope, he's a very real person. He posts semi regularly on 2+2 under the screen name sevencard2003. Go ahead and search that screen name and you can get in touch with him. Details on scam?

Seals with Clubs is a bitcoin poker site he has as I have said been a prolific scammer there since I have been there, over 1 year. The site has a lobby and people do trades of gdmp to get bitcoins. He would sell chips but the buyer of chips never actually got money after sending him payment . He also multi accounted , begged for money in lobby etc etc. In the early days he did paypal transactions which was an easy avenue to scam as would reverse charges people now use gdmps and escrow but due to the ease he could create new screen names his thievery on the site is legendary.

I never got victimized but people on the site don't use common sense a lot of time so it was scammers paradise for him. His well known name on seals is chumlee though he has many many other aliases.

I don't think that's really tony on seals. Just someone using his name. You can pick any screen name.

Tony Bigcharles and Back Pack Steve are two different people. I have known Tony for over 5 years, and apart from being a degenerate gambler, he is not the type of person who has the intelligence or balls to attempt any kind of successful long term or large scam against anyone. Tony has been living in the Reno area for the past month. Tony does go by the handle of sevencard2003, on many of his posts, however I do not believe that the person using his moniker to try and scam people with bitcoins, is Tony.. He has been banned from all CET properties.

I didn't say that someone used his real name when doing the scams . They posted his real name from aliases he was using. Someone posted his real information along with an address that was in las vegas on bitcoin talk thread. Info on scammers in that thread has been pretty spot on. People scamming in the type of scams I described had to leave real info at some points. It may not have been him as you say but person who put up the info included the fact that he was a regular at the stratoshphere in Las Vegas along with his vegas address. It was really specific info that person posted on the bitcoin talk thread .

Don't bother. I put him in 2 tournaments sometime in 2009 (one was like a $200 tournament in Caesars and the other a $300 Venetian deepstack) because I had recently binked a tourney and he kept begging me for a stake. He followed me into the bathroom a Caesars and begged me while I was taking a piss for he first one. He didn't cash and after 2 times I cut him off.

I agree his play is pretty weak (lots of limping after antes go in, etc.).

He also wore the same black clothes every day and smelled a little.

I left Vegas in late 2010 and haven't seen him since.
