For those of you keeping score.
Today is the last day of the Orleans Summer Poker Open.
Today is also the last day for El Diesel/Rice to be dealing poker at the Orleans.
I for one am surprised Rice managed to complete the 50 days dealing poker at the Orleans without an 'incident' occurring.

Me too. Seems like he had a couple of close calls, especially when he was pushing the envelope on their OT policy. My guess is if he didn’t have the Vlog to vent and air some of his frustrations, the likelihood of an incident would’ve been wayyyyy higher.

El diesel will most likely go back to dealing as soon as he realizes how much more he makes doing that than poker.

Because of the boneheaded way that he looks at things he will probably find some way of thinking that he makes more from playing even if the opposite is true. The guy can look at a roast duck and describe it as a raw duck so anything is possible with his perception

i mean look .. maybe he values his freedom. plenty of dealers grind it out all wsop and take a month or 2 off .

as someone who values his freedom ,I totally get him on that end.

Lock up your kids and take your Midwestern Trap Houses off of Airbnb because The real El Diesel is coming back to town. Gross food, meaningless, mind-melting challenges! records, endless, outdated records! Even more directions videos but this time the directions don’t even go anywhere! And it’s all coming back… finally.

No he won’t. The proof is already in front of him. He wants freedom and desert hot sardines and mayo packets. The legend is back!

**** money!!

Let’s be real, the dealing videos weren’t half as entertaining as when he was playing poker and partaking in silly challenges. This is a big win for for the viewers.

Let's be super real...he has never had an interesting vlog. He is a slug and gets views for being said slug.

Its hilarious but he has a decent amount of viewers who genuinely look up to him for advice and motivation. The people in the comments seem to be very complimentary of his every move/decision. I shudder to think what kind of lives these people must be living that they actually aspire to be like Rice.

The remainder of his views are probably from people who just can't look away from the unmitigated trainwreck that is his life, being chronicled in such hilarious and arrogant fashion

He may think doing it this way gives him the best of both words. He still makes more in 2024 than he made in 2023, and still has the freedom to do things his usual way when he isn’t dealing during the WSOP.

Yes, with his frugal lifestyle he can make this summer windfall last for months. He may deal 1 or 2 more smaller tournament series but no way he ever deals full time.

He said he intends to deal the winter series at Orleans. I think it's only 4 weeks though. But if he even deals 11 weeks per year that will still easily eclipse what he made in a full year of playing.

The dealer recap videos are bland and it is much better content for ELD to post searching for $8 rooms and no room nomadic trips seeking plastic spoons and condiments. Although with the Mirage closed CET has less competition to offer the $8 rooms.

When rice picks his thumbnails I wonder if he is trolling the many people who have pointed out how ridiculous the way he holds his fingers to signal low numbers is. In this case THREE (you wouldn't get what he meant without the fingers)

He already knows this and is still choosing to play 1/2 nl and make dirt.

This is what losing poker players do. They try to ride someone else’s coattails because they cannot make it in the streets of 1-3. If he were a long term winner, he would not worry about anyone else’s WSOP journey and focus grinding as much as possible.

pman is trying to be an influencer, he's just playing the game.

Has pman played any wsop events this year?

I think pman's $1,000 to $100,000 challenge is just him being close to busto.

My theory is he waits for his monthly allowance to come in for him to take a shot and when he loses he only has enough to play microstakes online.

That's the only thing that makes sense to me why he doesn't play more live poker.

I mean if he was ever going to capitalize on anything it would have been when he got 2nd in the employees event.

I think there are just a lot of supportive people out there who may not necessarily believe or follow the advice or ideologies that content makers put out there. Basically, there are 2 factions of humans: those who support others and maintain a positive outlook on life, and those who kind of take a more offensive posture against others and have a more negative view toward the world. Of course there is a whole spectrum that people may fall on in regard to those two extremes, but it's basically just like anything else in life, where things are almost never binary, but among a range on a spectrum.

You all should take a college course on sociology and/or philosophy if you haven't had the chance earlier in your educational endeavors. It's fascinating to learn various concepts that everyone can relate to within their own lives. It may not help you land a well-paying job, but it certainly is worth the interesting factor.
