There is evidence of an old long scar underneath Trooper's left eye. Signs of a youth spent fighting. Trooper was clearly a street scrapper like Nick and Nate Diaz of UFC fame.

My take is: That scar is why Trooper doesn't drink anymore.

I was trying to get lucky with search and find the Locker Room story, but stumbled on this vlog of his from 4 years ago. He talks about business and poker mindset, being lazy, etc. a lot of insight into Trooper. Start a 4 min. 10 sec. mark.

I had something kinda funny happen, i always youtube search to see if he put a new video up, and i youtube search and they have his channel first thing, then a section that says "latest from trooper97 and its a list of videos that scroll across horizontally when you click them, then underneath that, the first video is a rampage video he just posted. Owning the SEO or whatever it is called game, even comes up before trooper videos when you search for the trooper

He sure did! Bragged about it in a video a while back. Same fate for Doug Polk I'm afraid. He may want to wear pocketless shirts until this all blows over.

I don't think Polk was that insulting. His comment seemed to be more that Trooper's early vlogs were not really cut out for bringing in "casuals", because his presentation wasn't that slick nor digestible.

So, for what it's worth, I think Trooper's vlogs from around the time when he went and did single table satellites for like a week straight, all the way through his initial move to Vegas, are some of the best vlog and poker content ever made. Seriously. I actually made a playlist of them that I rewatch pretty consistently, they capture so much excitement and hype around making a huge life change, gambling culture, vegas, etc.

Unfortunately, that style of vlog was never going to be mass consumed and guys like Neeme and Owen had the brains to figure that out and make adjustments. Trooper never wanted to do that, and I'm not sure he was truly capable of it if he did want to. It takes a different skillset to do what those guys do.

Even more unfortunately, in my opinion--Trooper's vlogs have deteriorated in quality, starting from the time he truly settled down in Vegas, and getting steadily more worn out and dull as his own excitement for the place have dulled. Now I find his recent stuff mostly unwatchable. His rants can be funny, but in and of themselves are not enough to make a video worthwhile.

What I loved about his early stuff was its quality of being like a vegas trip report video style. He took us into his excitement and made us live it with him. That's gone and probably never to return.

Watching Trooper's earliest videos makes me think of Landon Tice today. Very enthusiastic and bursting with energy. You could actually feel it.
