I think if Trooper read the book Dress for Success he would understand why people treat him so much worse than Neeme and Owen. The book is not just about clothes, it's about how you act and talk, etc. He has as much talent as them and it's not really his fault that he grew up differently and therefore acted differently and was treated differently.

There have been studies that showed even when someone is a genius they usually end up doing some job that is appropriate to their parents' social class, even when that job is far below their abilities. There are a lot of success stories, especially among immigrants, but for the most part, people don't break out.

Social media is a lot like high school. If you wanted to be popular you pretty much had to be good looking and/or rich, or so funny and charming that they overlooked your looks or low status and let you in anyway. There is also a book named Class that Doug Polk recommended on his Twitter that I've been meaning to read. Realizing these unspoken rules of society really helps you understand yourself and other people more.

it's still relevant with exception of a few 80s references, fussell is a great author, strongly recommend this book, much like if you studied film you'll start noticing new things and the way you watch cinema will change, if you read this you'll never be able to walk through a stadium or supermarket the same again
