No idea how Vegas looks like, but it seems Trooper is walking a lot. A LOT. Is he walking a lot?

Naa he walks from his car to the casino it's not that long of a walk he just makes it look like that to fill in his rinse/wash/repeat episodes!

Nah, he normally parks at one casino, picks up coffee at another and then plays at a third. Then he walks around aimlessly while taking long breaks during his session. If you want to know why Trooper is in as good of shape as he is in, it's because he walks a ton.

I'm not sure where Trooper has heard that villain's won't bluff big at 1/2 but I think he is confusing what people actually say. Also, I heard someone at the table saying "Sick call." Perhaps that's why he put "sick call" in the title because honestly it didn't seem like a very difficult call to make.

In his really old videos from around 2010, Trooper looked much heavier than he looks today.

I watched an old vid the other day from pre-vegas and he looked much healthier/lighter.

I pay $10/mo for google play (nice to finally be able to listen to new music playlists/stations on my desktop when working (or when walking with my phone/earbuds for super low data use compared to streaming radio) and get youtube red for free. not sure what all comes with YTR beyond no ads.

Trooper does like to say it's not a card game and that it's a people game. It's a very different way of looking at the game compared to someone like Andrew.

Did Trooper really ask the guy if he wanted him to take his chips now or later?

This is how a professional gambler treats people at the poker table?

I thought the hand was a pretty standard JJ hand played passively, with a 40bb hero call with a villian capable of bluffing.....meh......hardly beating my chest on that one..

I didn't get the hype and think he's a douche...

As I said before, unlike Pokerkraut, Trooper is not the type of guy that keeps the tourist/rec players at the table. I remember him complaining about glass tappers a while back, well the hypocrite is one of the worst offenders.

Yea i avoided that one. Sidebar had me eyeing it though.

WRT Tropper, not-so standard hand but far from sick imo. A sick call would've been something like AJ for 3x pot, not 2-pair against a bluff happy opponent.

He also should've just added that video to his original video and shortened the ranting/raving/walking montage. But he seems to be desperate for content so another video it is...

Word on the street is that if you pay the $5 for exclusive content he'll reveal the tell (probably something as simple as the guy staring him down to project strength).

Mailtime coming tomorrow I'm sure.

Professional gambler? LOL

That was a lame speech. Guess it got the info he needed though.

Some do. From what I've seen, most Vegas low stakes grinders tend to be pretty bad at providing a fun environment for tourists. Trooper, in particular, is very confrontational with his opponents. He feels poker is like a war and the other players at the table are his enemies. I guess it works for him though because he's made it as a Vegas pro when so many others go broke.

I have heard the same thing a lot too (that villains don't bluff at 1-2).

I think A LOT of 1-2 NL regs in Vegas fold the river with JJ in that spot so to the average Vegas reg it will look like a sick call whether it is or isn't. Lol they might even fold JJ because they hate having JJ.

I think he started exercising in Florida so you probably saw some of his last videos before he moved to Vegas. I remember him doing the videos when he commented on really old videos and he was even calling himself fat because he looked at least 15-20 pounds heavier.

generally...i think most poker advice or written material on river bombs is to not assume it's a bluff. and calling with less than 3-5 nut hands isn't going to be profitable most of the time.

in other words heroing with bluff catching hands isn't the move. just fold. so not so exclusive to 1-2. but definitely should consider a fold in 1-2 when majority of players are rec and still learning advanced play. thus they will be less likely to bomb river with bottom range hands.

Most strategy books talk about not playing passive especially OOP.
This hand is what separates 1-3 players vs 3-5 winning players IMO. You will get absolutely get crushed in 3/5 playing as passive as Trooper did in this hand.
If Trooper took control of the hand he would never be in this spot....he either needs to bet turn or bet river (blocking bet), checking both streets to his opponent is disaster as villian can now put max pressure on him on both streets and he has no clue what to do hence him tanking forever.
In 1-3 he is faced with a $120 shove, in 3-5 he would be faced with a $500 bet and snap fold despite his "read".

I am a sub of Trooper, Andrew,Kraut, Boski,PA and many others. I like that they are all a little different. Andrew makes some fishy plays and admits it, Kraut is the one that could get me in a game he hosted.

I don't get the hate, these guys all are sharing their life experience good and bad. I guess without Limon these haters need new targets.
