It's one of those that if it wasn't on TV it is an easy fold for him. But he didn't want to be "showed up" by this "new young kid" in front of a National audience.

thing about mailtime is that it can be like 75% shorter every time. i'm genuinely curious to see what people are sending the dude, b/c it boggles my mind. i'm a selfish a--hole, so the thought of ever paying or gifting stuff to "content creators" escapes me. I still bootleg music like I'm drinking from a public water fountain, so I'm probably not the right guy here, but what possesses someone to say "I like this guy, I'm gonna spend $20 on him?"

anyway, cut the "the ****s with the ****s. right, heh? there's no one there" jokes (he makes like 12 of these every mailtime), show the box, cut to the contents, thank the person so they hear their name, move on.

oh and i don't blame him 1 bit. i'd do the exact same thing he does. say "you don't have to do this" which i think he genuinely means... but let's be real, people are willing to send you crap, you can say that til you're blue in the face, you still want stuff.

I'd go even further and add a text line at the end of every vlog pointing people to the info section so they can see the address, patreon, etc. I'd do a little write up for each vlog and pretend that's what i want them to look at though.

If Trooper didn't do mailtimes then he wouldn't get any gifts. People send in stuff to get a mention on the vlog. It's an inexpensive way for them to participate in a hobby they enjoy.

Thats a cool, arguably deceptive and grimey marketing "strategy" there hoss. Similarly as slimey as the click-bait technique.

Like I have said before, your screen name seems to suit you.

Wow, even the Admins around here try to instigate fights. I won't be baited by a rogue admin, maybe this site has some way to deal with you.

hey, i ain't doin it, but if i fancied myself a "pro vlogger" I'd go to great lengths to get as much free **** as possible. it would feel incredibly dirty, but i'd do it.

... and i won't even lie, I'd put 75% of the stuff sent to me on eBay. I'd rather get $4 of found money when all is said and done than another mug.

I'm not a vlogger though, nor would i ever be, and i absolutely hate asking for things, so this is all hypothetical.

Molly said in the comments section that she and Trooper are still together. So to the people who questioned if they were ever together, that settles that issue.

So it's pretty clear now that Trooper has no intention in moving up stakes. He's been playing 1-2 for almost 3 straight years with no fiscal traction to push him to that next level.

As a poker player it seems he's peaked with whatever formula he uses to win and grow his bankroll. And has zero intention in pivoting his poker trajectory.

Would that be fair to say?

Also interesting to note that Andrew has more than 42k subs and Troop is crawling to 25k. At this rate Andrew will have double the subs as Troop in about 1/4 the time before Trooper reaches even 30k.

Trooper's primary goal in life is to not have a job. its why he does mail time videos, so people will send him free ****. its why he begs for money on his patreon page. its why he uploads crap daily vlogs instead of putting out one or two good vlogs per week like most of the other vloggers. moving up to 2/5 jeopardizes that goal because it would only take a few weeks of running bad at 2/5 to completely wipe him out and send him back to dealing.

Trooper and Pokerkraut should both be dealing in addition to play poker. Even if it is 2 days a week, that's $400 a week in guaranteed income, enough to help overcome downswings.

I listened to him talking to Limon (someone put up the interview on Youtube in the last day or two) and Trooper still says not playing enough hours holds him back. Maybe his success in the 100 hours challenge gives him another reason not to play more hours. He can always think in his mind "Well the 100 hours challenge proves I'd make it as a pro because look at how well I did, and I do better when I play more hours because I know who is on tilt, who is running well, etc."

If Trooper ever does put in 50 hours a week again, and things don't go his way, wouldn't that hurt his confidence even if he knew that he ran badly? So he might be reluctant to play 50 hours a week again for that reason. That might be a natural tendency for a lot of people in that position, even if they aren't aware of it. As of right now, Trooper knows he has put in the hours for a 2 week period and it was a huge success for him, boosted his confidence and gave him more reasons to think he would be a very successful pro. Why would he want to risk taking away some of his confidence by trying that again?

He also thinks he reads hands extremely well, but only when he really pays attention, so he thought he read hands much better when he was dealing than when he was playing.

He did admit that he was lazy in not putting in enough hours. He says he does work on his game so I'm not sure if he thinks he is lazy when it comes to that. Maybe he does think he works hard enough on his game.

Pokerkraut sold a business he built up a few years ago so it's possible he doesn't need to work at all these days.

Hmm, is depression more prevalent in poker players ? If so, it might have something to do with sitting to close for to long next to smelly men.

He barely has the bankroll to play 1/2 how is he going to play higher?
