The 2nd Priestly hand at the Wynn, he raised with 45s to $20, gets 3 bet to $80 and calls? Seems awful, being out of position, with a shallow stack (he said he started the hand with $700) and a speculative hand. Is that standard or am I being nitty?

I thought that was very bad as well. He doesn't seem like a thinking player. Very fishy.

I only play $1/$3 but in a vacuum I'd agree. I'd want to be a lot deeper or at the very least have a multiway pot of at least 4 preferably 5 or 6 to make that call worthwhile.

To be fair when up against a villain who is only 3 betting KK+ and is willing to stack off deepish with overpairs it becomes less terrible.

Spoiler:
But still bad.

Definitely a standard fold there lol. He thought he took a bad beat because he was ahead on the turn but overlooked his bad call PF. Then he tilted off a few hundred. Reminds me of another vlogger.

His videos are pretty good though.

Which was not the case.

I think he's a thinking player. He's just very inexperienced.

Actually, his first issue was raising 54s from EP. Given his experience level relative to the experience level of the likely villains in the Wynn 2/5 game this is a fold all day. The call is obviously not good either.

Spoiler:
I'm still raising this all day though.
Spoiler:
maybe even calling
Spoiler:
because I hate money
Spoiler:
and the Ace never hits when I play

BTW, lets not forget he dusted his first buyin on a draw. He may have played that hand perfectly but in general inexperienced players tend to play their draws pretty poorly and there is probably a decent chance that he dusted off that buy-in unnecessarily as well.

In an interesting plot twist the guy who won 900k in the super contest pops2008 is a 32-year-old full-time Starbucks barista here in Vegas; he watched Sunday's early games as he went 5-0 & then had to go to work

According to Limon on the Pokersesh tonight, Trooper makes $18k a year from Youtube and other social media. He did say it was just an educated guess though.

According to this article, he had two entries (@$1500 per) -- both tied for fourth place going into this week.

Quote:
He decided to go with opposite sides of five different games. His five best bets on the card were Houston +3 at Tennessee, Buffalo -3.5 at New York, Baltimore +2 at Cincinnati, Dallas +4 at Philadelphia, and Miami +9.5 at New England. He put the opposite plays on his pops2008 card, and that one went 5-0 in the early games on Sunday.

Read this article as well, thought it was pretty cool also thought it was funny that the guy got his name for his entries because he looks like Pops from the Wayans Brothers show, the guy that also played the dad in Friday.

Andrew new vlog show whole cards, and he added some nice touches. Anyway, his style is suited more for 2/5 and 5/10. Playing J4 and j6 isn't profitable at 1/2 because you can't bet enough to get most players off hands.Playing 1/2 is when you hit, you must go for value.Nothing more. Nothing cute. Calling with bad hands in 1/2 equals too many decisions, because too many callers see the flop.

Just my two cents. I am sure Andrew knows this, and in the past found a style that got him paid at 1/2 in order to move up.

HOLE cards! The cards are in the hole, i.e. face down.

Welcome to Vegas...

while far from optimal, hes looking for value by playing with implied odds (even though 8 to 1 is slightly low) .

Gotta move up to 2/5 and 5/T, where the J4 and J6 whole cards become profitable.
