I think it could possibly provide an unfair advantage for the viewers tbh. It shows a player discussing strategy on how to beat the other players in the game.
Yes, Hand Histories discuss strategy, but usually posters are not giving away the location of where the game took place. And yes, location matters.
Just as an example, there are certain profitable spots that come up in Midwest games that I would never or rarely ever make in Las Vegas games, and if I were to do a vlog describing these spots then it would dramatically affect those games and it would tip off many players, making them play less exploitable.
With that said, for as many players that will benefit from the strategy, there will probably be 5x-10x as many degens that get back into poker because the hole card came reminds many losing players what it feels like to be at the poker table and to look down on zomg pocket kings.
Without the hole card cam, it's just a guy giving away free strategy on how to beat Las Vegas poker games. If your a grinder that already puts work in, you're not super thrilled with someone else just giving away relevant, up-to-date info on beating Las Vegas poker.
I'm thrilled with clowns like Ed Miller writing books when he doesn't even play in the games because his material is so freaking easy to take out of context and do more harm than good. But Andrew needs to be careful that he doesn't turn his channel into a free strategy video series.
I genuinely feel bad that all of the poker rooms seem to be shutting him down. At the same time, I'm glad he refrained from discussing hands that he didn't capture on film due to the reason stated above.
The good news is I think Andrew has a big enough following to turn his Vlog into something different than what he originally set out to do. I'm sure he has some artistic ideas up his sleeve and doesn't need his videos to solely be about poker hands or even poker in general. With that said, it does take a lot of talent to keep videos entertaining and interesting. Continuing to show all the cool stuff in Vegas is an obvious plus for the log. Discussing psychological issues like managing tilt. Interviewing other players or other people in Las Vegas that have interesting things going on. These are all possible segways and directions to take the Vlog....
