Not sure what to think of Pure Aggression giving Trooper that book. I've never read Elements of Poker. I think Trooper would benefit more from studing a book that goes into strategy or hand reading more than he would benefit from the psychology books but then again would he even read it? It seems like he read some books in the past but that was probably over a decade ago.

Also if Trooper really wanted to study he would buy something himself. I guess I get it. Sounds like Elements of Poker is an easy read so maybe he will flip thru it a little bit and pick up a couple of things.

The waiting list thing may or may not be there, if so, it's a one time thing. Trooper could be an adult, eat before he leaves Casa Del Trooper, pack a snack, stay at the table, and make money.

Tonight is one of the softest, most action packed poker nights in America. It's a night for a tourist packed poker room !

He should only play poker for the vlog IMO. His winrate isn't high enough for him to think that just grinding out the hours will help.

It's frustrating because he could literally follow a PF chart, and never pay off big bets on the river with less than two pair and there you go, Trooper would almost certainly be a winning player and that could be enough to put that winrate above $5 an hour.

Seems like he also thinks he needs to trick everyone at 1-2 NL and puts more emphasis on that instead of on getting value or punishing players for playing too many weak hands. Just look at all the times he slowplays when he is likely to be ahead. He should just be betting in those spots but instead puts more emphasis on making his hand harder to read. So he checks and misses value.

Wow!

Who? What game? Where? If you're in Vegas you'd want a piece of that.

Why does Andrew feel like he really needs footage of the hands? All it's showing is the hole cards and then he describes the hand with text above him. Substitute the hole card footage for graphics and you have the same thing.

Trooper isn't a full blown degen after all. From what I understand he said he was staked and wouldn't have put up a 1000 of his money. Nice to know trooper wasn't just gambling. He was talked into playing PLO with friends, and someone staked him. Nothing degen about that. He said it himself that he didn't play well. Based on him misreading quads,I don't think trooper is really into PLO like that to keep playing. It was basically because he was staked.

Anyway, that table was basically a drunk pot shove fest.

I must have missed the part where he said he was staked. I wonder how much of the winnings he got to keep? Does this win count in his yearly totals?

Yea he said he didn't have all of himself. He was even going off on tipped water vs his generic bs he normally brings in. Probably 100% staked.

@PLIKITYPLAK I would guess it depends on how much one of his friends was up or down. Assuming it was a friend at the table that staked him. That makes the most sense. He at least made a few hundred.

Andrew's vlog is always very relaxing to watch. I saw a lot of comments from people saying Andrew got them back into wanting to play live. Starting late Feb the games will be insane.

Andrew, don't worry too much about showing the whole cards. Your vlog has more going for it than just whole cards.

In a Tournament Trooper would get a penalty.

Many fans of his videos really want the footage and think it's not the same thing. I personally don't care that much but several people do care.

You're right, he would, but it's not a tournament, it's a cash game, and trooper was very honest about not being on his A game and he didnt hide the fact that he was playing bad.

Wondering if your 6k post count is from posts as useless as this one.
