What a complete **** show at the Westgate this afternoon for the Neeme/Owen MUG. Brush was completely overwhelmed with the mob that showed up and although they finally got players seated and the games started, they still haven't figured out how to operate their own waiting list. It's as if they've never seen a computer before.

And to make matters worse, for those who signed up early and left a phone number in order to be texted when a seat became available, the clowns at the front desk inadvertently sent a text to everyone on the list at the same time. When the hordes of people showed up, they just told everyone to ignore the texts and started over taking names and phone numbers.

My suggestion to Neeme et al would be to stick to holding MUGs in larger venues where the staff is used to dealing with more than a handful of people at the same time.

This sounds like Hard Rock in Tampa, they would have these great promos that would bring in lots of people and do it when its already busy, then not have enough dealers to start games and have lists of 50 to 100 for every game.

Yep. Here's the latest laughable episode: it's 7:15 and a guy walks in and reports to the clown at the front desk that he was just texted and he's here for his seat. Clown says that's impossible as he hasn't texted anyone. Guy literally puts the phone 3" from clown's face and shows him the text. Clown still adamant that he didn't text him and there's no seat available.

I had a nice chat with Brad a while ago about this cluster**** and he brought up another issue: He wasn't pleased that Westgate only allocated 4 of the 6 tables in the room for the $2/$5 game. The other 2 tables are $1/$2. So even though there was a mass of people here at 5pm for the MUG, they went begging for people to fill up the empty seats for the $1/$2 game. Eventually, some of the players here for the MUG decided to take the empty seats at the $1/$2 game while waiting.

I'm getting ready to leave and head back over to the Wynn (which is where I'm staying), and play there for the rest of the night. I had contemplated coming back here tomorrow for Trooper's game, but there is no way in hell that I'm ever stepping foot in this place again

He should spend more time thinking about how to solve the problem of him not winning enough which would be a more positive way to go about it.
It's funny that he tilts more from losing at what he knows is high-variance "blackjack" poker than he does from losing at lower-variance cash games. Weird phenomena.

Is there a better location for them to do it than Westgate though? The bigger rooms are all too busy these days.

Seems odd that Westgate wanted to use 2 tables for 1-2 though. They should really want things to go well because the room needs the vloggers to fill it up.

In that case, I'm never getting a room there.

They probably only expected 1 or 2 tables like what Trooper's MUG's are.

How many of those there for Brad/Andrew will go there any other time?

At least the 1/2 players might show up the rest of the month.

I've only been to TheTroopers game once, but Westgate messed that one up too. There were only 3 dealers and they sat a fourth table (which I was at) and we had to wait over an hour for a dealer to show up.

There were 19 people on the list with two empty tables that they never bothered to use. They also ran out of $5 chips and made a bunch of us use $25/$100 chips for 1/2 NL. During this, instead of dropping one's into the drop, the dealer kept putting 5's in there, reducing the already low 5's on the table.

It turned to **** when the number of 5's dropped and people would throw out a $100 chip and say bet $20. Then they'd have to make change, except occasionally no one had enough 5's to make change and it would just slow the whole game down to nothing as they were trying to figure out how to make it work.

My friend was playing PL Omaha there on Saturday and none of the dealers ever knew how much was in the pot slowly doing the game. They also kept taking promo drop on the pots even though Omaha isn't eligible for the promo money.

Overall, it's a poorly run poker room.

Except there weren't a bunch of $1/$2 players there. In fact, there was only 1 table open when the MUG was due to start. They opened the second $1/$2 table when they started seating the MUG players. That's why one of the clowns was going around trying to cajole some of the $2/$5 players to sit at the $1/$2 tables.

BTW, I'm sitting in a restaurant at Wynn right now having dinner and I just received a text from Westgate stating that my seat was now available. This was after I told the nimrod over an hour ago that I was leaving and to take my name off the list. Of course, judging by what's transpired so far today, there's an excellent chance that if I did go back, he'd just claim that it was another mistake and there would be no seat available anyway.

I am at Westgate a decent amount for Sportsbook, I always look over at the poker room and the last 6 or 7 days there has been a 1/2nl game going most times, whereas weeks before that is was a ghost town always. Probably a combination of Trooper game leftovers and people in town for WSOP maybe staying there.

The room is packed tonight with people standing all over waiting. Pretty crazy.

If I was Troop, I would have them hire me to deal there.

Westgate is a dump, but unfortunately the only place willing to do MUGs where you can take video.

Go there, meet Neeme, Owen, Vibes and GTFO.

And Trooper Thursday’s look lame as ****.

I think they should have used one table for the 1-2 NL game. That way they can have 1-2 available for the people that want to play 1-2, and an extra table for th 2-5 game.

How often does Westgate even have more than one table running for 1-2 NL? I would assume it’s more likely they have zero tables running.

When Andrew/Brad show up they might get a weeks worth of business in one night.

Was also at Westgate tonight. Was only going to play 1/2. Waited almost an hour. Gave up.

Said hello to Andrew, Brad, Charles and Johnnie. All were very cordial.

Bathrooms were pretty scummy.

I’d been there for a Trooper game on Thanksgiving. It wasn’t as bad obviously.

As for Trooper and the STTs he is up $1,500 in three weeks. Do you think he would be up in three weeks of cash games? I know most of you don’t so at least he is showing a profit.

Brad and Andrew will never leave the Westgate, since they supply them with INCREDIBLE suites, decorated and furnished in the late 1980's.

Agree though, this time of year it is probably next to impossible to find another poker room for a MUG..starting in late-July they should have their pick of the litter, again, when everyone is crying for business..

I think these stt appeal to trooper bc most of the time all the chips get in preflop and there no decisions to me made post flop.

Trooper can only do well in tournaments with terrible structures.

Can you imagine Trooper playing in a true deepstack tournament?

The only deeper stack tournament I remember him playing was last summer in that $550 heads up tournament at Binions..and we all remember how that went.

His one move is shoving a gazillion BB's with a premium hand and hoping he holds..

Noticed that Boski is pulling in almost as many viewers as Trooper despite only having 1/3 of the subscribers. There's not too much of a difference when comparing over the past week or so (12 videos each)

According to one of the recent Trooper-videos:

$125: 1000 chips, 15 min blinds, starts at 25-50.
$175: 1500 chips, 15 min blinds, starts at 25-50.
$275: 1500 chips, 20 min blinds, starts at 25-50.

Could be slightly off as I'm taking this from memory, but assume someone who's actually played them can arrest me in that case
