Does he still qualify for the employee event?

what... he doesn't have redundancy built in to his staking/crowd funding resource?

saying that your 'main guy' fell through when you only have one 'guy', is pretty hilarious.

From full stake to zero feelsbadman. I'd like to know the details of the deal for popcorn. Maybe he wanted 30%+, with no makeup

The details: Dad put his foot down and said NO.

A while back I saw on twitter/X that Jeremiah Williams was staking Pman

What is Diesel even doing on the west coast anymore? Potawatomi games look buttery soft for his style, and he never does well in CA or AZ. He has all these records, digital and I assume that card board box he schleps around is also filled with records, but he is so bad at analyzing them.

I’m sure Pman said something ridiculous to kill the deal or the backer read his thread on here/watched his vlog.

does anyone seriously think pman had a backer that wasn't his dad?

Pman no longer has poker player on his twitter. Maybe his backer got discouraged by this and determined pman was no longer serious about getting his grind on. I know it has me concerned.

The Westgate Poker room hasn't been good since OMC retired from poker.

we assume poker pros who were born into money were mostly self-made subconsciously and we give them some faith.

compared to someone being staked by mom & dad gets all the ridicule.

Weird ain't it when it's the both the same thing?

I swear I never thought of it this way until this very moment.

Family emergency on the backer's end left him without the funds to risk.

No, nothing on my end, just a tragedy on the backer's end.

Actually, he had a jeep. He would always cut grass and do maintenance at the apartment building that he owned. Also, he had 40k in a stock and would give updates on how it was doing. Isn't there a Horseshoe poker room in Indiana? I know this guy existed, I just can't remember his name.

I wasn't saying either for you. I was coming to an epiphany that we clown on people being staked by mom & dad, but self labeled pros jumping into mid/highstakes cus of family wealth, isn't criticized equally.

OG poster on here DGAF has been saying it for over decade but ok. I would say most people that have made money at poker in the US in any form are comfortably middle/upper middle class, and have above average intelligence. Limon and Rob Farha probably best rags to riches stories on this forum, and they still won the genetic lottery.

Did Pman just dox Jeremiah Williams for having a personal tragedy? That can be filed under saying something ridiculous/inappropriate.

don't think anyone was clowned on just because they are supported by their parents

it's being supported by the parents AND asking the public for handouts in form of staking a clearly -EV player

Trooper is a successful co-owner of a candy making empire, yet he was still ridiculed for freerolling the main event through his supporters

Anyone who wins at poker for a long period of time obviously has above average intelligence. But I think you underestimate how many people started with next to nothign especially in the heyday of online poker.

Sure, you can run up a $50 deposit on an over drafted bank account and still have an upper middle class upbringing. Remember, BBuddy would get drunk and tilt off heaps of buyins but he came from a wealthy Tennessee family and was a working accountant that won a WPT.

Also, notice how usually the people that came from nothing are more quiet and humble about it compared to people already well off like CTS, Bonomo, Taylor Caby, Aejones, JMO etc. It is self selective to a certain point.

that's kinda my point. there are a lot of people who just quietly grind cash games, print money and don't draw attention to themselves.

You mean poker players as a group aren't generally

1. "very annoying", and

2. an "odd group of people" ?

But it differs greatly by room.

Horseshoe/Ballys-nits and promo sluts
Bellagio-touristy tight
Aria-wannabes
Westgate-Island of misfit toys
Wynn-real poker
Orleans-different and dirty
Etc….
