No no no. El Diesel plays the nittiest promo rooms like Bally's, Westgate, and MGM becuase they have the best action and biggest pots in Vegas! Not because he can't win at poker and needs to fold almost every hand so that he breaks even and makes $6/hr from promos.

But it's important to note, these rooms only have the biggest pots and best action in Vegas for certain periods of time. This week it just so happened that after exactly 15 hours of Bally's and 30 hours of Westgate play, those games dried up and our shark had to move over to another sea.

Lol, this one got me giggling. Spot on.

Diesel is shitting himself just thinking about having to open up his game, play more hands, 3 bet light, double barrell more and live through bigger swings as a natural result.

Does Diesel even know that the 4/8lhe is an unbeatable rake trap? Or has he just relegated himself to being a dealer and hobbyist promo grinder from now on? It seems like he isn’t even trying to win money at poker anymore, he is just looking to minimize losses.

Diesel isn’t good at the technical side of playing poker but he might be even worse at the admin side, he doesn’t even know when the Westgate opens on weekends and it cost him $20, which is like 4 hours of wages based on his hourly aka a massive blunder for Diesel.

If only they made devices that would give you info like that at your fingertips anytime/anywhere you are. But we know that smart phones are sub optimal, those pesky apps do nothing but drain your battery.

I just want to say what a boon rice has been to this thread. Trooper was always quite boring imo so I didn't get the interest beyond how much of an idiot he is. But he got a top 10% outcome for himself so fair enough

Rice is just the gift that keeps giving. His logic and copium is off the charts. He will either start dealing and see what it is like to have money in your pocket or he will somehow outdo himself again and continue with boneheaded decisions of the highest order. Absolutely fascinating case study.

Hopefully, he doesn't self sabotage the job to go back to promo grinding,
confirming his own biases due to his cognitive dissonance.

He needs a handler.

The 4/8 at Horseshoe has $1/$2 blinds, a high hand bonus every 15 minutes, and the twice weekly rakeback freeroll. I think it also gets 34 TC/hr. Perfect for maximizing comps and rakeback.

i can't imagine how many academics lurk this thread and wonder what could be achieved for social sciences if we had the ability to clone multiple copies of el diesel for a large sample of test and control groups

He’s gonna make more in one 12-hour shift than he’d make cashing in the Horseshoe Freeroll and getting the $200 rakeback from Westgate combined. I’d say there’s no way he’d quit that to go back to grinding the promos but we know the decisions this guy often makes.

Yeah, he can always label the job as "miserable," which is his #1 seed go to projection adjective.

Still wishing him the best

I think if he doesn’t get too bogged down in being a Rules Nit, he’ll really enjoy dealing. I loved it for the first 5-6 years before I started getting burned out from it.

A true test of character.

Will more money in his pocket mean Rice will ditch the sardines, mayo, and hoodtop dining for more upscale, lower-middle-class fare?

Do Orlean's employees get discounts at the Orlean's food court?

Zero chance. The only time Rice eats relatively well is when it's being paid for by someone else or it's a comp, and even then his selections at buffets are highly suspect.

People like him just enjoy being as miserly as humanly possible in all aspects of life, and that doesn't change with how much money they have.

At this point, I think it's a crap shoot how Rice will handle working for the first time in many a years.
Working for 'the man', after many years of 'self employment' is not an easy thing to do.
Rice's hero, the OG himself, 'the Trooper' tried to work for 'the man' and he cried "Wee! Wee! Wee!" all the way home.

Lol. Rice having to follow company guidelines and handle players barking at him is a recipe for disaster. Draftkings odds on him lasting 3 weeks +450.

Even I have to agree that this has been the most entertaining period of this thread's history

Rice is ok with following the rules. He's a sticker for rules. The problem arises when his bosses or patrons don't follow the rules. Stay tuned...

I am of the belief he will do some self sabotage thing, seems to be what he often does.

He will never eat well, if you cant be skinny when dirt poor, you arent going to be skinny when "rich" even though rich to him is 30k a year

A lot of us think this.
That said, I think he's gonna prove us wrong thou.
Rice shaved to get the job, so I think he wants to succeed.
And he prefers not to leave Las Vegas for the summer this time.

The moment a pit boss overrides one of his decisions is the moment that will be the catalyst to him quitting.

In a future vlog he will tell us how he was the absolute best dealer out there except he didn't get recognized for it and that they didn't value him enough and all his bosses were incompetent and idiots.

Holding down a job is something that Diesel will never be able to do due to his quirks.

Wow what a cliff hanger in today’s video! Rice discovers that the Panda Express at Red Rock practically gives their unsold food away when they’re about to close. How many white styrofoam containers is our hero taking back to Excalibur??
