Sunday May 26th is event #1 of the series which is the same tournament but 60k guarantee that should go way over that as I think they said last week it nearly hit 60k and there will be a ton more people in this one.

It's a good chance to check out our boy Diesel in action.
I played the first Sunday tournament of Orleans' series last year and I believe they got 555 entries and a little over $130,000. It's a good tournament with mostly novice to decent to good rec players.

I would rather he go after the airlines devaluing my frequent flyer miles than a free Gatorade at the casino.

“I bought a suit, you seen it, now it’s covered in mud. Went to buy a new suit except the only store you can buy a new suit at has got the flu. You get that? The WHOLE store got the flu. So it was EITHER wear the leather jacket, which I know you hate, or wear this. So I wore this…ridiculous thing….for you.”

If you look up buffoon in the dictionary there should be a picture of Rice grinning ear to ear.

He is blissfully unaware of this and instead genuinely believes he is a genius and an expert at everything. Any negative or downfall in his life he attributes to either horrible luck or flaws in the world/system that he has to patiently navigate. It's hilarious to witness.

Imagine if they start charging him resort fees, it’s going to be endless unhinged videos with him whining how it’s so bad for everyone but him, ending with Diesel smugly jumping off of the Strat saying “Goodbye miserable world, no one understands my genius.”

Looking forward to hear about how Diesel’s dealing career starts off and what the Orleans will actually give him as a room discount.

Having to pay 'resorts fees' would be the end of the way Rice lives his life.

In today's video Rice explains why he only selectively gives results when it suits him. His reasoning is he does it this way because he doesn't want to be like all the other poker channels out there which are only focussed on results and hand histories LMAO. Amazingly in the comments section every one is agreeing with him and patting him on the back.

He's effectively created a nice little echo chamber in his YouTube comments. Every comment is either praising him on being so intelligent/interesting/unique or asking a layup question which Rice promptly replies to with links to previous videos where the question is addressed in detail.

He seems to have successfully weeded out every naysayer who ever questioned his methods and replaced them with sock accounts or superfans who dutifully sing his praises.

I have seen enough diesel results and his “cooler” hand histories when he calls it off with two pair on straightening boards to last a lifetime.

We watch not for the poker but for the pocket bread, meat cup, the slop bottle for cleaning up after desecrating a rotisserie chicken, the brain fog that causes him to become illiterate, and all the rest.

Someone just get me to diesel counting to three (with that weird finger configuration) in some players face because he didn’t put a big blind ante out. I have a feeling it’s going to be one hilarious summer of diesel.

That would be funny if a lot of 2p2'ers played the tournament just because of Diesel.

So you're saying I can still get unlimited lounge access and free checked bags with my Delta Platinum status? I'll let the gate agent know this at the airport.

I was denied a Fiji at CP because of my lowly status.

The guy next to me ordered one for me.

The fine print is included to work within the framework of the law...to make it legal when they amend their rewards program.

Absolutely. Tell them I said so.

Are the circumstances similar? You got cut off without warning? The benefits were cut off 4 months into the expected year of benefits?

It is aggravating - I don't know if I've been cut off or not. I took a trip during multiplier days just to get Diamond Plus. So, in case you're wondering, yes, there are people dumb enough to do that.

The guy had a high enough card? What was it? Did she take the card when she went for the drinks?

I didn't know such things happened.

One would hope so. Doesn't always happen though.

An example: I had a rental house, and in that house was a refrigerator with glass shelves. The lease says the appliances are not considered as part of the rented equipment, they're provided as a "courtesy". However, there's landlord law probably just about everywhere that says the dwelling has to be "habitable" and a refrigerator is expected to be part of that. Well my refrigerator stopped refrigerating, and I had to buy a new one. I wanted to get a cheap one with wire shelves. Still habitable, but my property manager said I wasn't allowed to downgrade an appliance compared to what was originally in the house. I couldn't "entice" a tenant with glass shelves and then downgrade the refrigerator within the lease period. Not exactly a perfect comparison, but you get my drift. It didn't matter what the lease said, the law protects the tenants from wire shelves in the fridge.

Lol a benefit is just that... a benefit.

And yes airlines do this exact same thing all the time. They change the rates at which points/miles/status are earned, they change the fees attached with using miles/points for flights and they also devalue miles/points. Some airlines give notice to all members, but some don't. Some wait to do it at the end of a membership cycle and some don't. Customers don't like it, and for some it could be the difference between choosing one airline over another.

But a company isn't legally required to provide any benefits or rewards scheme at all. So they certainly have the legal right to withdraw or rescind any benefits at any time they please. Even more so for an unpublished benefit which wan't even referenced in their rewards program marketing.

If people change their spending behaviour because of a rewards scheme in order to earn a certain benefit that's on them. No one twisted their arm into doing that. I can certainly understand people being upset or annoyed about it but that doesn't mean it's illegal.
