It's funny how my brain wants to say you're crazy. I would almost certainly order the octopus sometimes if the meal cost more but because it means a full 50% increase in the price of the meal I would almost never do this. That's how absurd the pricing is on that meal.

The Salmon Sandwich at Snacks in Bellagio is delicious. Their chowder is good too.

+1 Went to try Geri's today per this recommendation, good cheese steak!

For tourists, I'll again pimp Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris. Steak sandwich and BLT tartine are great; good frites too. Prolly $13 each. Plus IMO the faux French vibe and the ambience of sitting on the sidewalk or on the patio plays better for lunch, esp. when you might prefer to save a dinner night for someplace better. (They have gluten-free bread, too, which is tough to find.)

Been there. Its an ok lunch by normal standards, but probably the worst lunch I've had in Vegas. Other places I've been for lunch in Vegas are Milo's, Verandah, WichCraft, SushiSamba and FatBurger.

I went to WichCraft once and was ill impressed.

Mon Ami Gabi went on my "never again" list several years ago. Food was merely OK, and the service was inexcusably bad (multiple times). If they've improved then good for them, but I'm not going to find out.

I did see Evander Holyfield there though a week or two after Tyson bit his ear off. He was wearing a skull cap.

Not suggesting Mon Ami Gabi compares in any way to some of the higher-end joints on food across the board, but I think the setting/vibe (outside) makes for a great tourist chill lunch that feels like you are actually vacation -- unlike the boutique burger joints, etc., IMO. Service has always been very good for us, and my wife is high mainenance (and gluten-free).

I had it once a long time ago for lunch and I remember it being passable, and then I went for dinner one night, seated outside in front of the Bellagio fountains, and the food was pretty good, nothing amazing, but it wasn't bad, and I can't hate on it too hard.

I had "the works".....delicious and could use another. I'm pretty sure this is the closest thing I've ever had as an authentic cheesesteak?!? Is this close to authentic?

As far as burgers go, my favorite is Stripburger. Agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment that Burger Bar is overrated.

I've had really bad service the last couple times I've been and it seems like there's no point in asking how I want my burger cooked (med-rare) because they always bring it out well done. That being said; their sweet potato fries are awesome!

It's funny that you mention the sweet potato fries specifically. I don't normally care for them, but the ones there are outstanding. The first time I went there, I absolutely stuffed myself on my girlfriend's leftover sweet potato fries. I love the fried pickles, too.

I've stopped trying to order burgers medium rare at most places, because most places don't have a bun that will hold up to the juices of a medium rare burger. I feel your pain on this one, though; having my beef overcooked (I always order my steak rare) is my biggest food complaint.

I haven't had trouble with service, but I've only been a couple of times. I do remember that their soda was pretty flat the last time I went.

So yeah, Stripburger isn't perfect by any stretch. I guess it being my favorite is more indicative of dis-satisfaction with the other options.

I really like BLT Burger, I mostly like Burger Bar. Never been to Stripburger or Holstein's. Where will they fit?

Yes, that's been an issue for me every time too. And my waitress kept bringing me reg Coke when I asked for diet. (Here come the diet coke with a burger and fries jokes.)

I really like BLT, but it is pretty pricey for a burger place imo. LOVE their Campfire milkshake:
