I did, though the other stuff is also pretty comparable to Spago.

Eh, I like the more Italian style better, but this place is pretty awesome. It's also walking distance from Panorama and open late, so it gets my business for sure.

No, that's just blue ribbon I think. I was there yesterday and it was fine.

DOCG or No Name? Cause DOCG is pretty rocking, I'd chose this option over the two anytime I have a little more extra time.

This weekend I plan on eating all my meals at Cosmo FWIW, any friends who wanna get food on Sat night send me a text. 3rd floor has become like a second home for me, it has changed my eating habits for sure.

Do they have Chicago Deep Dish or is it more like New York style? I'm staying at Aria in June and I'm always looking for good pizza on the strip.

They close at 4, 5 or later on marquee nights (f,sa,m) depending on traffic. Open at 11 am.

Blue Ribbon and the Pizza Place (and maybe the sports book?) are closed because of a cold water pipe bursting. They plan to reopen sometime in May.

I went to the no name pizza place after that news story broke, I think it's the other pizza place that's closed.

How is the Eiffel Tower restaurant? I am thinking of this spot for a really nice dinner for two... Is the food as good as the view? I assume that an appropriate tip is required when making your reservation to get one of the tables with the best views?...

Thanks,

Thanks,
Food is very good, not great, the view is absolutely incredible. Wine list is among the most overpriced in Vegas. Best way to get a window seat is to get an early reservation. I think it's worth going once, especially to wow a ladyfriend, but its not a go-multiple-times place.

Basically this. The food doesn't quite compare to Picasso and similarly priced restaurants, but the appeal to a female is the reason to go.

Adding a third to the Eiffel Tower discussion. Nothing wrong with the place, you'll have a good time, and you probably won't go back.

As for getting the good table, tell them you're going to propose or something.

Going to Madrid and Barcelona in October and am completely overwhelmed with how to find the best places to eat. In Philadelphia we have some good tapas by Jose Garces (Amada and Tinto). Both are very good, but don't know if that's what I should be expecting in Spain.

I'm sure there are some amazing restaurants in Madrid, and would love to try one very fancy and then just sample the local flavors the other nights.

In Barcelona I'm as interested in great views as the quality of food (can be good, not overwhelming).

How much should I be expecting for a "fine dining" experience (with wine pairing) in each city?

How much will the other non-fine dining meals run me?

Do not want to derail, and saw that someone is going to Barcelona and checked those links out. I'm still overwhelmed just googling "Best Places to Eat in Madrid/Barcelona"

Thanks

Not a bad idea for getting a good table... LOL...

Question - do you have to pay to take the elevator ride up the Tower to go to this restaurant? I know there is a ride to an observatory area at the top of the Tower... is the restaurant up there?

for very top 3 star michelin type places you are looking at 150 Euroes PP without wine.

I wouldn't worry about views during dinner. You have dinner to eat, there is plenty of time for sightseeing.

Non fine dining will heavily depend on what you order. Dining in a casual place can run you only 15 Euroes PP but if you start ordering stuff with premium ingredients like the jamon iberico de bellota or the fresh red headed gambas or the baby eels, it can quickly escalate. In other words, many casual places will still have very rare and expensive dishes.

My Jaleo trip report.

Auggie and I went to Jaleo. We had some tasty pig.

We were happy, but the pig was sad that we ate her.

We all lived happily ever after, except the pig that is.

The end.

Really appreciate it your help.

Have you had a chance to go to http://www.cellercanroca.com/CUINA/menus_2.htm I'm thinking that will be our Spanish fine dining experience. I'd feel silly missing a 3 star on my trip there.

Any specific suggestions (casual) in Madrid/Barcelona for specific restaurants and dishes?
