L'Atelier is L'Egit.

Hadn't even heard of Harvest, so looked it up and apparently it's what they replaced Sensi with. Looks like your standard farm-to-table, locally-sourced, sustainable, artisanal thing that just make me roll my eyes.

Bardot is exactly what you expect it to be, which is a fairly decent but overdesigned/overpriced French bistro. No surprises. Kind of like most big hotel restaurants on the strip. Bouchon is better.

Giada, just lol at anyone who cares about food and would consider that place.

I like Guy Savoy a lot. It was on par with full JR in my experience. The dining room can feel a bit cold and spacious and for that matter the servers I had felt very French if that means anything to you. But the food was great.

That said it's likely 500+ a head for signature plus wine so it's a price tick above L'Atelier which I still think is my favorite meal in Vegas.

Also Savoy has a truffle menu that I desperately wanted to try and couldn't afford. I wanna say it was around 400 just for the food.

Edit: funny enough the menus are on the website. 290 for signature. 375 for innovation. 430 for signature truffle. Signature was great. But it's 100 more than seasonal at L'Atleier.

If there was a specific wine that you would like to have again, you might be able to order it online or through your local wine/liquor store.
No, the dessert wines were an addition we made. Not a part of the meal.

Va,

Vegi-cotti, mock salmon roll, and neat loaf & "fries" at Go Raw Cafe fit the bill perfectly for an EU foodie!

Considering the following:

Yui Edomae. Had a good meal at Kabuto last March. Best sushi I've had in Vegas, but frankly, still doesn't live up to the best sushi on the nation's coasts for obvious reasons. Is YM worth the off Strip trip (keeping in mind I'm a coastal sushi snob?)

L'Atelier/Robuchon. Would probably skew away from Robuchon and likely $800/person degustation/booze/tip tab. Have heard great things about L'Atelier, both in this thread and from others. Laying 8/5 that that will be consensus fave.

Harvest at Bellagio. Know nothing about this place and smart enough not to look at Yelp.

Rivea at Delano. Ditto.

Have heard less than flattering things about Guy Savoy. Accurate? Seems a shame as he's got truly great restaurants elsewhere. Ditto for Giada and Bardot.

Would love to hear LVL's opinions about the above joints. Open to any other suggestions as well. Most interested in Gobbo's opinions obv, king of LVFD. Also, Gobbo, if you're around and want to meet some 2p2ers who have benefitted from your recommendations, we'd love to have you at our table to talk food and poker. PM if interested.

TIA all.

Had just about the worst dining experience of my life at Giada....Spare all the details but 3/4 entrees were not what we ordered....2/3 starters sent back...Super expensive for what it was...homestyle italian cooking with a little upgrade on the ingredients.

Steakhouse recommendation for on the Strip. I have been to Cut each of the last two times. Both were good, but the last time I had kind of a weird experience when they kept me for 45 minutes while trying to figure out how to use my poker room comps, so that got me annoyed.

I like fine dining but I don't have a huge appetite. Plus I will likely be solo, so splitting isn't an option. I'm wondering what is the best high-quality steak with small portions. I'm thinking no more than 8 oz portion with no bone. I usually like ribeye cut, not as interested in Filet Mignon. I guess Kobe or Wagyu is an option but $220 for 4 oz (SW@Wynn) still seems a bit steep.

What would be the best <$100 steak that you could recommend, so I'm not wasting half of the meat (if I'm also getting sides etc.). Domestic Wagyu? Delmonico's has a "100% Japanese A-4 Wagyu Ribeye" for $90 but they don't give the size/weight.

I have a similar appetite and generally don't get a steakhouse steak unless I'm splitting it. If you're up for something non-steakhouse you can always go steak frites at any of the French places (Bouchon, DB, Bardot). More of a manageable plate of food. Wagyu will be rich enough to feel like a full steak.

Recently had dinner at Canaletto within the Venetian. I ordered the Linguine Alla Buranella and the misses had Vermicelli Al Pomodoro. Both dishes were excellent and the service was phenomenal.

Get a table in the piazza and there is live music right in front of you, plus the canal and great people watching.

Has anyone been to Trattoria Reggiano or Zeffirino's and could add a comparison ? I looked over their menu's and location and felt like Canaletto seemed to be more my style.

If I want a bigger steak like a ribeye or NY strip, I usually skip the bread, have a light appetizer like a salad with balsamic dressing and order veggies as the side. That's the only way for me to finish a big steakhouse steak.

A couple of ideas for you.

Very decent price, completely out of the way, but you can't have everything

Striphouse @ PH. Always had great bar service solo. No easy portion solution here, I just swerve the bread and appetizers, order a steak and 2 sides and leave a lot of the sides... It is a standout pick for me because the service at the bar is usually better than the table service and they season their steaks heavily and give them a gentle char, so it stands out for me as something a little different.

Steak Frites is a good idea....I guess the other alternatives are: (1) don't worry about wasting food, or (2) take the leftovers to go and (a) eat them cold late night/morning or (b) give them away on the street.

I should note that even when I travel to Vegas with my wife, splitting is not an option because she is vegetarian.

Well, Mandalay is on the Strip, so not "completely" out of the way, though I might instead try Aureole if I were going there...

Funny, my last Vegas steak WAS at Striphouse. I was going to go to Craftsteak at MGM, but because I was staying at Vdara, I ended up going across the street to PH instead. I sat at the bar, and had great service but only a mediocre filet mignon, which I ordered because it was essentially the smallest portion. Not bad, but not that memorable either.

I've been to Delmonico's a couple of times before, and I have always enjoyed that. Would consider going again, but for variety I might try instead Craftsteak or even Gordon Ramsey's place at Paris (I'm staying at the Flamingo this time). Southwest at Wynn seems to come up as an option here occasionally as well, but I'm not sure about their bar seating options, as that is what I have always done at Cut and Delmonicos.

Had exactly same experience at Bouchon last year. Which is why we don't eat there anymore.

Apparently a systemic issue at the V.

Interesting. I used poker comps for breakfast at Bouchon on my most recent trip and it was no problem.

Annual trip to Encore this past week.....I was so bummed when I heard Society Cafe closed as this was our go to place for breakfast and lunch while on property however, we ate at the new Jardin several times this week and felt good about it. I believe this was a good use for the old Botero space as it has beautiful outdoor seating right by the pool and it makes for a nice little brunch spot.

Do I dare ask if Wazuzu has slipped a little? It is usually one of our culinary highlights for late night on our trips and I got the lo mein and it just seemed a little flat to me. Pot stickers were also not as delicious as I remember...thoughts?

We had a bounce back experience at Sinatra this year (3 years ago amazing, last year good but not great, this year great again)....continues to be one of our all time favorites.

Had a chance to hit up the buffet also at Wynn and I feel like it was very much improved form last couple years in terms of quality and freshness of selections. I could be splitting hairs here though.

Does anyone here debate that Wynn & Encore outlets have just the most amazing decor and design themes of anywhere in vegas?

Mastro's ocean club in the crystal shops....what a cool experience. I love Mastro's and have been to 3 other west coast locations. This one was on par with all of them and although I thought I would HATE eating a steak dinner in a mall, compared to their Scottsdale strip club decor this was much better actually!

Doesn't Wazuzu close at 10?

Wynn is cool. I think you like it more than I do, but I get it.

I will have to look in to Mastro's

Off topic, but:

I used to really love Wynn, but they've jacked around with the math on BJ and craps so much that I've decided to not give them any more action other than poker. No doubt they're beautiful properties, but from a gambler's POV, they're terrible.

LV fine diners,

Where would you go for an 11pm dinner?

Seems like most nicer places have last seating at 10 or 1030.

Happy to go with either fine dining or just someplace good/nice.

If it's on the weekend, a lot of the casino restaurants are open until midnight or later. I remember being seated at 11 or later in both Jaleo and Blue Ribbon. Think Chada is open late on weekends as well. Not so sure about weekdays tho.

Gobbo: thanks, but will prob be restricted to strip

Pixel: thanks. It's this weekend. Jaleo has been my standby choice for this in the past, but recent reviews itt have all been pretty negative. Prob will just end up paying a million dollars for beers and burgers at TE PUB since we'll be at aria.
