Played again at the Sat night Aria tourney which I must say is starting to get much bigger numbers..80+ last night vs $ 50+ a couple of weeks ago (same time and night)

had a terrible night..4th hand ..I have 7-8 suited on a flop of 4-5-6..ended up all in (me making that shove) and getting called by a guy with 4-5 and he caught the 4 on the river (ugh)

re-entered (cause I still wanted to play)..5th hand on my re-entry
I have 9-10 suited on a board of 9-9-10 -another shove with a call from JJ and the river brings a J

some nights..

I did decide that I really dislike the fact that they do not have cup holders of any kind even though they have the best drinks and best glasses for the drinks (they actually use the type of glass one should use for a particular drink) which is almost unheard of..had to keep my hands off the table most of the (very brief) time I played since the guy to my right had the largest glass of soda sitting on the table in my space..and since I have already witnessed 3 major drink spills on the table in my 6-7 times played there it does make me nervous/cautious..why don't they have the portable drink holders most places have?

I'm guessing this is $100+$30+3% which is pretty gross even though it's a cheap option to play the game.

Was at the Aria a few weeks ago and the early tourney had over 70 entrants all 3 days Wednesday to Friday. 30 minute levels nice tourney.

Ya, I think the fees and buy in were kinda steep. There were only 48 in the field. Was chip leader 4 handed, but took a beat on the river for 60% of my stack. Ended up making a deal to tie for 2nd money. Over $1k for $130 buy-in. Not too proud to take my licks when it makes sense.

Gotta work and can't do the main event at Caesars, but it's gonna be BIG!! $250,000 guaranteed at a $1k event - I highly recommend!! can't wait for DSE at Venetian.

For those who have played the Venetian and Aria tourneys...can I get a rough estimate on how long those usually last?

Thinking about the Aria 1pm for $125 and from skimming the thread, looks like it gets anywhere from 70-90 entrants...should finish around what time usually?

Thanks guys.

i'm only in town for 3 days and getting bottled up for 7-8 hours might be too much

Will probably just stick to the cash games

I like the Orleans as a <$100 tournament, pretty decent and the crowd is never too tough.

Hmm interesting. I'm currently weighing up which tournaments I want to play when I'm out there next month. Realistically I think I can only get away with ditching the missus for a whole day so I'm going to try to cram in as much as possible. My proposed plan is as follows:

9am: Caesars $70
12pm: Orleans $75 - only if I've gone busto in the Caesars tourney in time to make it, otherwise:
2pm: Planet Hollywood $70
7pm: The Venetian $100+$15

Would appreciate any comments on the above. For the time between tourneys I'll play cash.

Really enjoyed the Venetian $120 Re-entry on Friday night (7PM). So many people playing that don't understand tournament strategy.

Stayed 2 nights at the Golden Nugget and they run a few tournaments at like 1AM, 4AM, etc... but those had very few entrants (under 20 and 1 table respectively) plus the juice looked fairly high. They had a poster for some Sunday showdown tourney that looked decent but I didn't get a chance to play in it.

Good luck and hope you have the stamina so you do not need to sleep the next day.

Thanks. I'm going to scrap the morning tourneys and just got to Caesers from 3pm. Hopefully I will try and fit the morning tourneys in on another day as I don't think I can realistically play well for that long.

Anyone know how any of this changes for the Venetian Saturday 340? What would first be and how many runners?

Anyone know how long the Orleans 7PM tourney normally runs? I have a 2AM flight out Saturday AM and am thinking about playing the Friday night tourney.

Monday- Friday the 12pm and 7pm $110 buy-ins at Caesars are $5k guaranteed. I played this tourney 5 times last week and 3 of those times it didn't get covered. This is making the juice beatable, and Caesars is giving away free money basically. Not to mention the fields are way softer then the Venetian too.

Overlay doesn't mean free money, usually just lowers the rake to a more reasonable %age.

dont bother with the PH afternoon tourney, waste of time.

ceasers has a soft field, i crushed a 80 runner $80 one with ease, and the venitian and aria offer some of the biggest fields, and best structure in town, but do come with some decent players.
