I gotta tell you dude... and don't get me wrong... but have you ever tried McDonalds new Wings?

they are quite good for what they are, fast food wings. they have a great fried flavor with a bit of spiciness to them and they are rather meaty.

I know that is not the answer you were looking for, but outside of making them myself at home, I don't personally buy wings that often... except micky D's

I don't believe so, although I tried Carl's Jr. wings a couple weeks ago & wasn't particularly impressed.

I should start making my own wings I suppose, but the wife only like boneless wings, & BONELESS WINGS AREN'T EVEN MADE OF CHICKEN WING THEY'RE MADE OF BREAST MEAT AND THAT'S FALSE ADVERTISING AND NOT EVEN COOL OR (as) DELICIOUS.

Whoa - why is this the only mention of Fat Choy in this thread?

Had my virgin meal there last night, and it was truly out of this world. Guess it's a dead giveaway when you enter a seemingly modest dining establishment with two flat screen TVs, one showing a NFL game and one showing Food Networks's "Chopped", and the audio playing out loud is from the food show ...

Fat Choy takes up approximately 20% of the floor space in the Eureka Casino on East Sahara, just before Commercial Center where Lotus is located, and the decor mostly look like somebody painted a Johnny Rockets diner red. Like it or not.

I had the Fat Choy Burger with fries, with a patty made of pulled short rib, and it has to be one of the top two or maybe three burgers I've had in LV. My companion chose the pork belly BLT with salad, and it did not disappoint either. The shared dessert was a delightfully crisp and chocolatee eclair, and the service was attentive and courteous.

While we ate a homeless person entered the restaurant and asked if there was any food refuse he could have; the waitress went back into the kitchen and brought him a large, stuffed paper bag, and when the mendicant offered her a handful of coins in return, she told him to keep his money and sent him off with a happy new year. It was just a really nice interaction, that could have taken any possible shape.

The menu is very limited, but right now I cannot wait to return and try the signature bao.

Heading to Vegas with my parents and girlfriend in late February. What casual dining/buffets would you recommend ?

McD's wings were in fact legit tasty, and agreed they are like what he is looking for. They dropped them a few months ago though. Per the WSJ and CNN, they have millions of pounds of wings in storage that they can't sell.

money.msn.com/investing/post--mcdonalds-stuck-with-10-million-pounds-of-wings

I'd buy at least a few more bucks of them.

Edit: Of course Hooters serves both regular and breaded wings. They have some non-buffalo flavors too.

Hooters wings are pretty terrible tho. Too bad bout McDonald's wings, thx for the info. Would have felt silly showing up & asking for something that no longer exists.

There's gotta be something out there just a tad more upscale & delicious.

Fun fact: the wife of the owner has a crazy memory. They used to own a food truck, and I went once with a buddy of mine. A year later, I go to the brick and mortar place at Eureka. She remembered my name, which bao I got, and that I liked the duck bao more than the other ones I tried.

hooters wings are the suck... I hate them.

food 4 less sells a large bag of really great wings... the wings are plain/no skin and are from some small processing company(not one of the big name companies) because they come in a plain bag, but they are nice and big with a lot of meat on them and are a great place to start for a wing recipe.

we make them here at home where I make my own teryaki sauce from scratch with fresh jalapeno's/jalapeno juice, carrots, onions and a lot of fresh ginger. uber Tasty with a hot bite.

I was actually looking at the menu & reviews & such for this place. People had mixed opinions, but definitely going to check it out sometime.

Mango bbq sounded good.

hey guys,

did a quick thread search and didn't really find much (forgive me if i overlooked anything), but does anyone have any recommendations for anything downtown? i saw a few reviews of heart attack grill, not sure if that's gonna do it for me though. saw another review for a hole-in-the wall hawaiian place as well, but i'm 95% sure my buddy won't go for that. looking for something real basic as 2 of the people i'm going with don't get more daring than a hamburger well done or a basket of chicken tenders and fries...

thanks!

Mickie Finnz is ok. Downtown, regular food, blah blah blah. Pretty much right across from Heart Attack grill. Don't highly recommend or anything, but it seems to fit your criteria. Can eat outdoors, etc.

As far as burgers go when I don't want to eat at one of the Strip places or In N out I end up at Outback. I would love to find a better option but for 9 bucks it's good enough for me. I live in the Whitney Ranch area in Henderson and don't always have the motivation to hit the Strip.

I just noticed that Clark has been to Town Topic and that's funny to me. It's funny because I've lived here off and on since the mid 80s and I've never been.

good basic food?

aloha specialties in the californian (upstairs, get the siamen)... or the coffee shop in the El Cortez. both are great basic food places.

I know the derivation of the name but I don't think it's objectionable on that basis.

i dont think its objectionable, just inexplicable. Seems odd to name an establishment after a similar place known for abusing its patrons... its like having Howards Room as the high stakes section of a poker room, or circus circus opening the John Gacey Crazy House of Clowns, or the Miss Rivers Discount VD Clinic.

Yeah, who wants a somewhat obscure reference to disturbing things that can happen to you when you eat food across from the heart attack grill.
