I am not a bloody mary fan, but they do have some elaborate ones. Maybe sub out the coffee.

I did MAG patio in March, for exactly that. Light b'fast and a bloody. Perfect.

And it was the most expensive b'fast I did in Vegas that week.

Best pork belly in Vegas is Bell's BBQ on Horizon ridge. Only like $18 and you get it on Texas toast with a side.

Seriously, this is the most useful, informative thread I've seen on 2+2 in years.

I'm only in town for a week or so monthly, but y'all give me plenty of good leads.

Thanks for the contributions and free info.

On the weekends, they make an Alpine Soup over rice at John Mull's Road Kill Grill that is absolutely fantastic. It's probably a top 30 dish I've had in my lifetime. Couple that with their burnt ends and you have a fantastic meal. Avoid the brisket and ribs, pretty bad.

I've had some really good meals at MAG (mainly lunch; I'm not a breakfast eater) and the prices have always seemed very reasonable for the food and great for the location. A few years ago their corkage fee was only $20, which was amazing I hope it is still the same.

What is in this alpine soup?

It's very basic and not something I would order if I only knew the ingredients. Onions, zucchini, dill, celery, chicken broth, potato, butter and pork sausage all over rice. The guy comes and makes it on the weekends and hands out samples and it was unreal good. Couldn't recommend it more.

Hmmm I'm going to be around the corner from John Mull's shortly. I'm never in that part of town. The reviews have always been positive over the years but it always looked kind of meh to me seeing it on tv. Burnt ends sounds great but if we're avoiding the brisket and ribs I guess some hot links would be good to go with it. As long as it's not too busy I'll give it a shot and report back.

burnt ends the best thing there, I'd just do the burnt end plate with two sides and avoid everything else.

I haven’t been there in forever, but always liked it. Do not think it’s the best BBQ in town though. I think I really liked their Mac and Cheese though if I remember correctly, better than most places for sure.

Wasn't a ton of people in line but still took 45 minutes to get food. All the food is pre-cooked so the line should definitely move a lot quicker than it does. The burnt ends were not an option to do a combo plate with. They were just okay. Got some spicy sauce on the side and it was not good. The highlight of the meal was the corn bread. 6/10 if I'm being generous.

Geez, I'd hope BBQ is "pre-cooked", otherwise you'd have a really long wait.

When I'm a couple of days from visiting, I'm always interested in current BBQ reviews.

Thanks for the write-up, negative reviews are useful

You know it’s bad when the bbq highlight is the corn bread.

Yeah, but probably a little tastier than cardboard. If you add enough BBQ sauce.

The styrofoam box might have been a little yummier.

Soul Belly is pretty great. Their pastrami tri tip and brisket are excellent. Go early in the day to make sure they haven’t run out yet. No one talks about John Mull as being one of the best spots in town.

Now is Vegas a top tier BBQ destination? No, but there are some decent spots.

Went to Gordon Ramsay Burger. The best onion rings and french fries I've ever had. The burger was outstanding too.

Seriously, looks way overcooked and zero bark on it.

Wild Fig is great for BBQ. Their weekend-only “dinner pork” has tons of bark and is some of the best pulled pork I’ve had anywhere. It’s diff than the regular saucy pulled pork. Great brisket too.

Can’t find a good reason to go to John Mull’s over that or Soul Belly

That place is a total tourist trap, but just like Ramsay’s other tourist traps the food is really good. I remember years ago his pub at Caesar’s was significantly worse than his other places in town, they shifted the menu and recipes two years ago and that place is expensive but food is great.

Think big bs is underrated. The sausage and fatty brisket hit the spot when you are so far away from real Texas bbq.

Yeah, it was definitely packed. We also went to his fish and chips spot in the Linq promenade. Didn't like that nearly as much as his burger spot (possibly due to how bad all that fried food made me feel the following day).
