Is Bootlegger Bistro still open late? They gotta have chicken parm me thinks. Also Giuseppe’s on Durango is open 24 and they would have a chicken parm as well

I don’t know Giuseppes. Any good? Didn’t feel like driving over to bootlegger and back from SW. I did check out Frankie’s uptown last night. Cool little bar. Young crowd. Music was loud. No complaints about the chicken parm - as good or better than I’d have expected from cafe at RR. Rotelle was a weird choice of noodle but that’s a super nit and honestly it avoids the inevitable sauce splatter a bit better.

Giuseppe’s is okay, certainly will hit your late night Italian food craving, though I’ve never had their chicken parmesan. Have you ever been to Boulevard across from South Point? I imagine it would be something like that.

Just got in. Was starving, ready to eat after checking in. Apparently sushi neko was packed and not taking anymore customers as of 10p on a Monday night. They have an extended section next door that looked relatively empty but was told they only had one sushi chef there and the wait would be 45 min.

Drove to jjanga and was told they were closing soon and doing last call right then.

Drove all the way to umiya and was told they close at 1130 and last call was 11p. We had 30 min to eat, but at least no wait.

Took two pictures and forgot to take pics of anything after. Me and a buddy ate at least 20 orders of nigiri, a grilled mackerel, some shrimp and octopus skewers, and a couple other things I forget. Definitely packed in as much as we could in the 30 min, but we were stuffed. I was happy with the freshness and amount of rice on the sushi.

Be aware -- I thought the sushi places closed at midnight. But some are 10-11p.

There are some open later than that, though, I guess I’m not sure at this stage of the pandemic on a Monday. Umiya is a place I never consider going for some reason but I’ve never had a bad experience there.

Ate dinner at Herbs and Rye for happy hour half priced steaks. Since it's half price, I put it here in the casual thread. Forgot to take pictures of half price clams (great), our drinks (so great), and sides (jalapeño creamed corn and garlic spinach -- so great).

Highly recommend

Lunch at Joe's seafood and steak at the Ceasars forum shops. King crab lunch special for 35 bucks, with 2 stone crab leg added. So much food. Comes with Mac n cheese and charred corn, and a key lime pie (not pictured). Obviously don't get to eat king crab that often, and stone crab legs even less so. Everything was excellent.

Is happy hour at Herbs and Rye just the whole menu half off? That’s crazy if so. Impressed you can get a steak and clams half off in any case

Never been but will definitely check it out happy hour now

No, only select things. There's actually only 2 appetizers and a couple pasta dishes that are half off, but all the steaks and chops are half off.

Din Tai Fung, at thr Aria for dinner. I always forget to take a pic of something because I'm just too eager to eat. Pictured are pork soup dumplings, crab soup dumplings (though it looks the same from outside), noodles with minced pork, sautéed greenbeans with garlic to get some kind of vegetable, and tried the chocolate and mochi xlb. Not pictured are pork ribs (so good), chicken and mushroom bun (ok), red bean xlb dessert (good), and a couple flavored iced green trash (excellent).

Everything was so great. The green beans were pretty plain, but no complaints. I was blown away with the chocolate xlb. Definitely a lot of food for two people.

I made reservations to everywhere if possible. Probably not needed for joes for a midweek lunch. Absolutely necessary for herbs and rye. Din Tai fung looked packed for lunch, so definitely would make reservations

Went to Weera Thai on Sahara. While we love lotus of Siam, they're only open for dinner and always a wait. We were happy with our meal.

I got the shrimp yellow curry lunch special which was great. My friend got the spicy clams which were excellent as well. Not spicy at all as we got minimal spice. The star of the show was our shared crispy duck salad. The duck looked over cooked, but wasn't at all. And the name is perfect as it was super crispy. The vegetables and were all fresh.

It was busy with locals but we had no wait at noon on a Thursday without a reservation.

You should have gone to Lamaii as opposed to Lotus, though I am still happy that you were happy with your meal.

This wasn't lotus. I definitely forgot about lamaii as a choice. Will have to return to Vegas again.

For our last dinner in town, we went to trattoria nakamura-ya, an Italian Japanese fusion little place on spring mountain.

Green mussels served escargot style was a neat concept with 3 different sauces with a mussel, and all were piping hot and oily, but good flavor. One was sweet miso (very subtle), one was spicy cod roe (not spicy at all), and the best one was parsley butter. I could eat 20 of these. Also got bruschetta 3 ways. Traditional mozzarella and basil was great, as was the Tuna puree. But the octopus avocado with Wasabi mayo was the best one.

My friend was very happy with their signature fish, uni linguine in a tomato cream sauce. Small pieces of uni flavored the whole dish.

I ordered a medium rare outside skirt steak, and it was simply prepared and great. Very tender high quality, and the balsamic soy was perfect.

Finished with a standard green tea Gelato to round out a great meal.

Sad that tomorrow is my last day.
