Sun spots have been very active this month.

I generally run off my AT&T mobile hotspot even when other options are available, but that's not for long periods online and calls coming in tend to screw it up.

(I have Cox at the house, but am not a fan.)

Cox is the best option

If CenturyLink Fiber, or their spinoff company, Quantum Fiber is available at your location, that's your best bet, by far. If their Fiber service isn't available, Cox is your best bet.

We are fortunate enough to have CenturyLink Fiber where we live. This is why I tell you to get it if it's available at your location:

Anytime my internet has cut out, it's usually been around 3 in the morning. There was a month back in late 2021 where it cut off 3 times, it cut off once a month later, and then my last outage was back in May of this year. Otherwise, connection has been solid and the downtime hasn't lasted longer than a napping session.

there is some TMobile availability but it is all via wifi.

I used to have Century Link but u couldn't pay me to use them again. way too many service outtages (talkin' days, not hours) and their customer service is amongst the worst I've ever dealt with.

I now have Cox and they're ok. certainly less outtages than I used to have with Century Link.

I strike anything else I said ITT. I switched from Comcast to ATT U-Verse, to finally WOW all because of service/outages. I will gladly pay more for slower speeds, if it rarely goes out, considering that I work from home (and I lose my mind when off the grid)

No worries. Rhodes Ranch has somewhere around 3000 homes. I have no idea what percentage can get fiber, but our subsection can, and it's awesome.

Overall, the CenturyLink Fiber service is very reliable with almost no downtime. We did have a period in summer of 2020 where it kept going down, and because of the Covid lockdowns, it would take several days for someone to come out and get it running again. Prior to that it has been extremely stable for around 4 years.

I ended up switching us to the Cox gigablast because they had a good promotion, $65 a month for everything included. When the promo ended the price went to $180 a month and I switched back to CenturyLink.
65/month, no contract, no data cap, and they gave us the modem-router for free. The setup was less time consuming than trying to cancel the Cox service. I've had zero issues since we switched back 3 months ago.
