It might depend on where you plan to do most of your gambling including poker and whether your going with a gf.

Without that information I would stay at Flamingo, which has a significantly higher chance of the $20 trick working. Save those couple hundred bucks and

Spoiler:
gamble more

Do you guys think the 20$ trick will work there to get an upgrade?
I've tried the $20 trick there one time and the first person I dealt with it didn't work. I had to go back down to the desk for something and tried it on the guy that helped me and it worked. I got upgraded to a corner suite that was awesome, but I was alone that trip and felt like it was kind of wasted. I haven't tried it since for that reason.

You can always try it and the worst they can say is no. Have your $20 out when you go up and lay your on top of most of it just so they can see part of it. Mention that you are willing to tip or take care of them if they can take care of you.

Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback, I will try to get the corner suite upgrade.

Can't wait to hit LV again!

You say you gambling budget is 2K, but what is your food and lodging budget?

Without further info....

I'd stay at Flamingo, because (1) its a better location (unless you plan to spend most of time at Aria) and (2) your budget is a little short (but do-able). I'd stick to 4/8 limit
and 1/2 no-limit.

I would just book the fab save the $$ and ask to be upgraded at check in, I'd also get a total rewards card, and recheck the rates. I just booked flamingo for a similar stay and it was $260 for 8 days.

Ouch - to underscore how timing is everything - I've got a Go room at Flamingo during CES, six nights came to around $1150.

Thanks for the response guys. I'm leaning towards Flamingo but then the left side of my brain keeps reminding me that I'll probably never get Aria cheaper than this... Unless I turn into a high roller of course.

That's a good deal for Aria for 4 nights. Are those week nights? Also, where are you going to do your gambooling? Are you playing other things than poker? If so then I would stay at Flamingo where they will have lower limits for table games. Plus the money you save in the room is extra for whatever else you want.

1st thing is 1st..never listen to your brain when thinking of Vegas. Money is money and will be spent either way..Do you want to spend it on a higher class room that you will never be in? or would you rather spend it on things outside of the room, where you will mainly be?

Flamingo.

I'd spend the extra money for the beds alone at Aria. The place being newer, cleaner and less smoky is just gravy at that point. You got the Monte Carlo a few minute walk away if you're looking for low limit gambling or cheaper eats at their food court. You've also got a short walk for the ass parade that is Cosmo(and secret pizza). I'll admit I'm not a fan of that entire stretch from Planet Hollywood basically to Venetian or CET in general so maybe I'm a little biased.

if youre taking your girlfriend sack up and go to Aria

Flamingo has some nice rooms, but the property itself is nothing like Aria. You will be spending a ton of time walking around the resort, you want her to enjoy it. Go to Aria.

edit: ffs its her birthday. Spend some extra money and stretch it out of your gambling budget if you need to. Dont be a dick. You know the right choice

I'm glad my girlfriend doesn't give a **** about rooms and properties.

I'm confused. Why would spend a lot of time walking around the resort? Regardless of where you stay you'll spend most of your time going somewhere else.

If you are bringing a girl, yes get a nice room, but stay as close as you can to where the the shows, clubs, gambling, etc. that you are planning to go to. I.e. don't stay
at the Tropicana if your going to spend most of your time near the Wynn.

Its just better in my opinion to stay mid-strip, this unfortunately means pretty much the CET properties. (if you want something budget priced.)

They are fine but older and some will argue you can do better for not that much more money.

Staying Mid-Strip is always the best idea if you want to bring your woman, IMO.

Yea planet Hollywood should be pretty comparable to flamingo in price, and right there at center strip near Cosmo, Aria, B, etc. don't stay at the flamingo ffs

My gripe with Flamingo is some of the rooms feel closer to the airport than they do to the casino.

My gripe is that it's a dump.

Can anybody confirm that either one of the following have a pull-out couch or something similar:

The Cosmopolitan
-Terrace studio fountain view
-Terrace one bedroom fountain view
-Terrace suite fountain view

Also, what could I expect to be upgraded to if I were to try the $20 trick at PH after having booked a Fountain View Room? Do they have any better rooms except for the suites which I obviously won't be upgraded to?

Nome those Cosmo rooms have a pull out. Also, the couch is pretty uncomfortable. I wouldn't try to sleep on it.

Also, the flamingo is a ****hole. I felt bad when I go my gf and I a Go Suite.

I won't even begin to ask you what your gripe with the Quad is

Thankfully, the first thing my GF says when we see our rooms are..alright lets go down stairs and take a seat somewhere. I save my budget for gambling, I can't ever justify myself paying 400+ a night for a room that I am barely in.

Queue the "don't you want to **** your GF in a nice luxury suite!"

Nice false dichotomy. Either stay in a dump or a $400/night suite. There are in fact lots of good options in between.

Show me where I said there wasn't?

It's just a number..a random number thrown out there. If you take everything in life that literal..oh **** it why do I even feed it.

Thx in advance

(Stayed at harrahs, flamingo, and ballys but never paid attention)

Almost every hotel room in town has an adjacent room right next door. Thank you, I'll be here all week.

I think you mean connecting rooms with an interior door between them; I would be surprised to learn that there's any hotel in town that doesn't offer them. As to the number and availability of rooms or bed types, YMMV.
