I went ahead and booked a few nights in June at Palazzo using the CP35A1 offer and was quoted by the Grazie reservations lady at the $109 rate for those weeknights. She mentioned that I just need to "play one deep stacked tournament" during the stay to qualify. I plan to decline the resort fees.

There was no mention of minimal tourney buyin amount and she was confused when I mentioned the 6hrs of cash games alternative. Still no definitive answer on this offer code apparently but I'll find out in the poker room later in June.

P.S. Was given preference of Venetian or Palazzo rooms and decided on Palazzo because the rooms are newer and thus slightly nicer in terms of wear and tear. Am i rite?

Yes, that's a correct assessment. It is a longer walk to the poker room but assuming you're not a lazy ass, that shouldn't be a problem.

Please see written fine prints for CP35A1 here (page 2): http://www.venetian.com/uploadedFile...v20130401c.pdf

Granted, that seems to be a version from early April, but I suggest you call the poker room directly to confirm conditions before alternative lodging options go up in price. Better safe than sorry.

Booking a trip to Vegas for 5 nights. Just me and my brother. Basically we just do alot of casino hopping, degenning, and drinking. Usually just like to get a cheap room that's in a good mid-strip location for this.

I am able to get Harrah's, Flamingo, and Bally's for similar prices. Nothing fancy, just a standard 2 queen room. I've stayed at Flamingo multiple times, but never Bally's or Harrah's. Anyone stay at on of these places recently? Which one would you guys consider the best of these three? FWIW for 5 nights including resort fees Flamingo is $300, Bally's $230, and Harrah's $212. So slight differences in pricing. But if there really isn't much difference in Harrah's over Flamingo I'd just as soon save the $82.

Thanks in advance.

Ballys north tower. For what you want, best location for clubs (besides xs,surrender), casino hopping for 2 guys.

only reason to go Flamingo over Bally's/Harrah's IMO is if you will use the pool a decent amount, b/c the Flamingo pool is >>>>>> the other two. Rooms pretty interchangeable.

Stayed at Harrah's labour day weekend 2012. Some pics here, room was more than fine for a poker trip:

Pool area is small at Harrah's. I went to the pool at Flamingo that same trip and the pool area is quite large, really not that nice though compared to Aria pool area for example. Probably a more hip crowd at Flamingo than Ballys/Harrahs from my experience on the casino floor.

Much nicer IMO. It's not that big of a walk to the poker room...it's getting past those dang BJ tables on the way back that's the challenge!

Planning on coming for the ME (July 3-11), booking for 8 days, was wondering if anyone has good discount coupons for Cosmopolitan, Vdara, Aria, and Encore?

Check out hotwire for those nights. It's in a 5 star "The Strip - South area hotel". Based on it's description, it's likely Vdara. I see it for $710.34 total, tax included. When checking out of the hotel, you'll need to pay the resort fee. Very good deal imo.

Don't pick the cheapest 5 star north area option. You'll end up at the Trump hotel.

Looking for some quick help from the vegas vetrans.

Coming to Vegas for 3 weeks, for the most parts i'll be staying at the Palazzo, but I have to find a different hotel for 4 nights (21-25 of June). Seems like a super expensive weekend due to the EDC.

The options in the price range i want to spend looks to be Flamingo, Tropicana and the Rio. I've been to the Rio and it's pretty mediocre, but it has a distinct adventage of, well, i'm gonna be there most of those days anyhow.

Any recommendations between the 3?

Also, at the Rio there's a huge difference in price for a standard room with king size bed and standard room with 2 queen beds, which is the room I want. It's about 50% increase ($120 a night for 1 bed, $180 for the 2).

Is it worth it to book the regular room and try to change (or maybe upgrade to a better room) thru the reception?

Another option I saw was a much cheaper offer for the Bally's (about $80 a night). Is it a drop off from those 3?

Thanks!

IMO ballys is about on par with rio and trop and a little nicer than flamingo, which is the worst of the bunch you mentioned. One of the things that ballys normally has going for it is that youll get a (nicer) north tower room either for free or cheap most of the time, but i doubt this will be true during EDC.

Per trying to change room type at reception -- you would have a decent chance on most days, but i think most of the hotels are close to capacity during EDC and i doubt youll have much luck.

Have you considered staying at one of the places with long-term options? MGM Signature or Plams Place suites? for the entire duration, and not at Palazzo?

Bally's hands down, you've got the shuttle, great location, good hotel, and much better price.

I have received an offer in July , $39 rate at Stratosphere + resort fee 14.99.

How far is is to walk to Wynn/Venetian , is it a 15 minute walk?

Longer. You won't want to walk that in July.

Google says 30 to wynn and 40 to the V
If you want to stay there get a car, less than $10 a day

For $54 a night + cab/car rental costs, there must be better choices.

The coolest hours of the day are from 3am to 8am with the coldest at 6am, at which time the temperature is below 85°F three days out of four.

The warmest hours of the day are from noon to 8pm with the hottest at 4pm, at which time the temperature is above 99°F three days out of four.

Ok then my other option is The Quad. I was hoping for something better but I'm on a budget for 2 weeks.
