It's not a scam, its just not really a Hilton, rooms are really old.
There is weird noises like hearing elevators zoom up and down thru the air vents even if your not close to elevators.

I could get cheaper rates during week at CET properties but this is a good deal for weekends at $80 after taxes for the weekend.

I still find it shady because the online booking link playerroom has is not the official LVH link. It takes you to a third party website which looks as scummy as it can get.

yea that first page does look sketchy.

What is the proposed scam?
Are you saying someone advertised in a magazine which I saw, and its not LVH and they are out to get your credit card or something?

Just call LVH and find out for sure.

Just called them up and it is indeed true. Should be a good option for people on a budget like me.

Sorry for the earlier confusion but to be fair the official LVH site doesnt show that offer online and the third party site does look a bit sketchy.

i wrote pretty much the same thing right after, then called LVH to confirm, then took it down.

that said, according to LVH the rate does exist but it is only fdor dealers and TDA members. the person to whom i spoke said as far as she knew, playerrooms.com was not affiliated with LVH

the whois info lists a Bonnie Leihnos, who was implicated in the UB Superuser scandal, as the administrative contact for the playerrooms.com domain. the domain name was registered in feb. of this year and the registrar is different from the registrat on LVH's main page.

So i would book with LVH directly.

incidentally, bonnie's listed email address is @faceupgaming.com.

just pretty ironic for a former UB employee.

Taking GF to Vegas - she's never been before. I have been many times. I wanted to ask, is the Aria a good choice from a "vegas experience" standpoint? I've never been to the Aria but it looks nice from the pics; however my concern is that it looks kinda corporate and like it could be a hotel in any other city whereas Bellagio/Wynn/etc. look more "Vegas." Reason I ask about Aria is that it's cheaper than Wynn/Bellagio.

wynn/bellagio are definately more of a vegas experience in that regard. Aria/city center is a little corporate and lacks the vegas over the top glitz. Venetian/Palazzo should be closer in price to Aria and have a little more "Vegas" to it.

I found a page that looked the same as that one for CES 2012. Obviously it was expired, but it appears a 3rd party is offering some sort of group rate when there is a convetion or an event like the WSOP.

Here:https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do...ventID=3371821

same domain and everything

Can you actually call the hilton and use the code to book? If so just do that.

I've never stayed at Caesars but I have a promo that only lets me book the Roman Tower. I assume that's one of the older crappier ones, right? Which one should I bribe the desk to switch me to?

I get mixed up whether it's Forum or Roman that's crappy, or if they both are. Regardless, shoot for Augustus or Octavius, settle for Palace.

Agustus
Octavius
Palace
Roman & forum.

Regardless, its better than staying at the quad.

Can't decide between Bellagio and Wynn for 4 night (weeknights) trip with GF who has never been to Vegas.

I am familiar with both hotels and have gambled in them but I've never stayed there.

The Wynn rooms look so much nicer from the pics online. But the Bellagio has that huge Vegas feel and the great pools (which I value) and the location.

Also the Bellagio is $150 less for the four nights total. But, man, those rooms in the pics look so blah compared to the Wynn rooms.

Strip location IMO is only reason for bellagio think its become a bit dated otherwise.

Never been in a Bellagio room, but suite at the Wynn was great, & from reading TRs I'd say people were much much happier at Wynn on the whole.

Ok, Bellagio is out the more I think about it.

But now I see that Aria has a deal on corner suites that would only be $50 more total (not per night) for the entire trip than a Wynncore standard room.

I didn't really want to stay at the Aria since the hotel looks a bit corporate, isolated, and unromantic from pics I've seen, especially given it's my GF's first Vegas trip, but I wonder if the corner suite deal makes it a no brainer.

I've never seen Aria in person which is why I'm so hesitant to book there. The pics and videos of the hotel lobby and casino (not the room) just look so uninteresting, whereas the corner suite looks awesome.

Also, Aria booking is completely refundable whereas Wynn is nonrefundable and must be fully prepaid.

I suppose I could always split up the trip: 2nights Wynn, 2 nights corner suite. Might be fun to do. Who knows.

I think 2 at Aria and 2 at Wynn is your best bet, but you can't go wrong with either for all 4. Wynn is a great property overall but a bit isolated at the far end of the strip, whereas Aria is right in the middle of things with easy walks to Bellagio, Cosmo, PH, etc. and a great property by itself.

Personally I prefer to switch hotels once per trip longer than 3 nights just to keep things fresh. It's never too much of a pain for me to pack and unpack once, but I could see how it could be for a girl or if you're huge into model train sets or LAN parties or something.

Corner suite makes it a dealbreaker. Those are really nice rooms, much better than a standard Wynn room. I'd book that and settle in, I've always found that switching hotels is a PITA.

And Aria's a damn nice hotel. True it isn't as well-designed and has a more modern than classical feel, but I doubt you'll be disappointed.

What does your girl like to do and what is going to be the focus of the trip? If clubbing is involved, I would vote Wynn as you have Tryst, XS, Surrender, etc. If you want proximity to strip and intend to shop and walk, Aria might be better. Poker is certainly awesome there. I can't speak about pools but if you're going in the summer time I would factor that in to play and weigh it heavily since girls usually love to lay out and enjoy the Vegas weather. As a standalone property, I'm partial to the Wynn. Love the whimsical decor, plush colors and overall opulence that I think sets a really strong first impression. Aria is nice, but I don't think it will be as memorable.
