I won a seat to the main event and have never been to vegas during the wsop. First question is I was booking my room at the Rio and will want to upgrade my room when I get there to a suite, will there be suites available or will all the better suites at the Rio be soldout? Will the Rio be ridiculously crowded all the time and full of men? I am bringing my gf with me and she isnt going to like having to walk through a filthy hotel full of degenerates while I am not with her.

My second choice is cesear's only because I have stayed there in the past but never during the wsop. What are the chances I could get a upgrade at the front desk during check in? Last time it was no problem because I was there in march.

I have a total rewards and the rio quoted 7/2-7/16 @1500 before the poker discount which seems ok. I trying not spend more than 2k on hotel. The gf issue is making me lean towards cesear's. any thoughts?

All the Rio rooms are "suites." I'd just use the $20 trick to upgrade to nicer suite or better location. I've never stayed at the Rio, but I doubt it will be full of dudes. IRRC, a lot of the poker sites were housing their qualifiers at places like Monte Carlo. Now if your GF is just going to be hanging out at the pool and what not all day, you might be better off on the strip where she will have more options while you are playing.

Spent the ME week there in 06. Yes all the rooms are suites! And yes it's a sausage fest! Well except for the ladys of the night waiting outside for us to finish @ 2AM.

The hotel has a good vibe during WSOP, but since your bringing your ol lady your probably better served staying on the strip. Well maybe not it was very nice to be able to run to room whenever you wanted and not having to wait in 1 hour cab lines.

Thanks, my gf has made it clear that she plans to be pool side all day so i guess it's on the strip. 1 hour long cab lines are going to tilt me tho'

Caesars pools are very nice. There is a shuttle between Caesars and Rio for the return trip (grabbing a cab at CP shouldn't be an issue).

One last thought. Have you looked into any other hotels? I know that you will receive a reduced rate at Ceasars through youe ME entry, but you can probably score a better rate on your own at other hotels in the summer. If she's sat around the pool all day on her own she's going to get approached by guys throughout the day. That kinda kills the part that she doesn't want to walk through hotel full of male degens w/o you.
