Hey Community,

I have just booked a Trip to Vegas ( 5 nights at Wynn ) and since it is my first trip to Vegas I got some questions for you insiders.

Best Places for Sushi/Italien and Mexican food with average prizes ?

Best clubs from Thursday to Saturday ? Do I always need bottle service to get in ? I got my girl with me so that should not be that big of an issue, right ?

Best company to rent a car in Vegas ? Found Dollar e.g , is that one any good ?

And of course : Best pokerroom with the complementary tourist fishes ? ; )

Thx in advance for your help m8s

There are so many restaurants near the Wynn, but it will require some walking to get to them. In August, it's very hot, so it's good to know how to get around while staying in airconditioned spaces most of the time.

This is a walking tour which I have previously posted in other threads, it would be a good idea to do this your first day.

Quote:
Start at the Wynn. Walk through all of the public areas in the hotel/casino/shops, and exit at the southwest corner of the property.

Take pedestrian bridge across Sands Avenue to the Palazzo, walk though entire hotel/casino/shops, pass through the restaurant row corridor into the Venetian, walk though entire hotel/casino/shops including the Canal Shoppes, go upstairs and locate Tao Nightclub, go out onto the veranda take in the view of Venetian plaza, Mirage, and Treasure Island.

Exit front of property and cross Las Vegas Boulevard toward Mirage. Pass the Mirage entrance and go south to the entrance to the Forum Shops. Pause at the entrance to the Forum Shops and observe the fountains. Look across the street to the facade of Harrah's Casino.

Enter the Forum Shops, walk through the Forum Shops, and enter Caesar's Palace Casino. Walk through all the public areas of the hotel/casino/shops, be sure to see the high roller pit and Cleopatra's Barge Bar. My favorite public restroom is near the statue of Julius Caesar by the roulette table. It's my favorite because it's large, clean and uncrowded. Exit at the doors at the hotel lobby.

Walk through the public gardens in front of Caesar's Palace. Stop for a drink at the outdoor tented bar. Walk across pedestrian bridge over Flamingo Road into the Bellagio.

Walk through all of the public areas of the Bellagio, especially the Observatory Garden (display changes every three months), ask security to allow you to cross through the Fontana Room to go out onto balcony overlooking the Bellagio Fountains, observe the glass flower sculptures in the hotel lobby. Exit through the front doors at the hotel lobby. Immediately turn right, go past the valet parking desk and up the escalator onto the veranda.

Follow the veranda toward Las Vegas Boulevard. Observe the Jockey Club and City Center on the right. Observe the Bellagio Fountains on the left and enjoy one of the best panoramas of Las Vegas Center Strip. Pause at the end of the veranda to observe the Bellagio Fountain show (every 15 minutes). Go down the escalators and cross Las Vegas Boulevard toward Planet Hollywood.

Go onto the veranda in front of PH and walk to the end by the outdoor bar. Pause and observe City Center on the other side of the Strip. Observe the huge Bellagio sign. Reverse direction and head north past PH toward Paris Hotel Casino.

Observe the faux Paris Monuments (which are really quite good). Continue past Paris to the garden in front of Bally. Walk through the garden and observe the plants and fountains. Go across the pedestrian bridge over Flamingo Road toward Bill's Gambling Hall. Take a brief walk through Bill's to see if Big Elvis is performing.

Leave Bill's, go onto pedestrian bridge over Las Vegas Boulevard. Pause and observe another great panorama of the Center Strip.

End of tour. This trip can easily take 3-4 hours if you take only brief stops and do not go into any stores. Excellent to do early in your trip to orient yourself.
At some point, you'll also want to find the way to City Center through the Bellagio. After City Center, go through the Monte Carlo, and now you're down on the south part of the Strip near NYNY and MGM.

You asked about renting a car, but your location is good and I don't think you'll need a car, unless you want to drive to someplace like Death Valley or Valley of Fire State Park. It's so hot in August that outdoor sightseeing really isn't very pleasant, so I don't think a car is necessary.

This thread has pretty good suggestions: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/10...person-370810/.

Also a good way to get info is to use the "Search This Forum" function. For example while in the Las Vegas Lifestyle Thread Page, off to the right side of the page, just above the first thread listing is a pulldown tab entitled "Search This Thread". Click it, type in, let's say, "Mexican food", select "Show Posts", and hit "Go".

You get a list of posts regarding Mexican Food in Vegas. You can get a lot of information that's already been posted this way.

I always rent a car and use it a lot, even if it's just to mix it up with a trip to Sam's Town or Orleans or something like that. You can get them very cheap, too.

This, especially in August. You'll come to appreciate the a/c whenever you have to go outside.

Actually, now that I think about it, since it will be so hot, don't go past Paris, go into Paris, and walk though to Bally. Much cooler.

I was just in Vegas with a group of three guys and we had no trouble getting into Rain on a Friday night and XS on a Saturday night. I heard the line for Club Pure gets pretty insane..
