I will be staying at Harrah's Las Vegas from March 30th through April 3rd. This is a Monday through a Friday. I just want to know where should I go to play poker? People keep saying the Venetian is the nicest. Where is the best place to go for tournies? I heard the noon day tourney at the V is good, about how many runners do they get? Anyone have suggestions about cash games and tournies? I am looking for tournies in the price range of $100-$200 and I play $1/$2 NLHE when I play cash but occasionally I play $2/$5. Where should I go to play while I'm there? Where are some of the softest $1/$2 games and softest tornies to play in? All suggestions welcome and sorry if this has been asked before but searching 2+2 never answers the questions I am looking for.

You've pretty much got the answers, venetian, venetian, venetian.

You might occasionally on weekends find softer games at MGM, but the noise, the tables, the waitress service, and the speed generally make it not worth the extra edge.

I'm getting into vegas tomorrow and staying at Harrah's too. I was also planning on playing at the Venetian since it's so close, but I heard Bellagio's 2/5 is softer because it's their lowest limit, so I'll probably walk over to check it out. I stayed at Imperial Palace last time I went and played 1/2 at Harrah's itself and it was super soft. It was the only place I played.

Not any more. Bellagio now has 1/2 NL. This is new as of December.

Bobby's Room is the high limit part of the Bellagio Poker Room where the Big Game is played. Try to avoid it.

You're there at exactly the same time as ShoWest (movie theatre industry convention, but maybe you knew that) which is centered at Ballys/Paris. There will be conventioneers playing at Bellagio and Ballys that week, myself included. I've always done well during ShoWest.

Where do you find the dates of conventions? I'll be in vegas March 14-18.

Dunno, google somewhere. I know ShoWest because I'm there for it every year.

MGM for some of the softest games ou can find...Venetian for one of the nicest poker rooms in town...and if it's late,wed-sat nights, go to wynn (10PM-4AM) for teh 'entertainment value...poker room is by the self-park garage and the parade of scantily clad women walking the 'runway' in front of the poker room is pure entertainment

Bills 1NL game is by far the softest game I have played in town, ainec. Unfortunately the dealers and floor people don't take advice well, like mainly they need new decks as the ones they use were old dirty pos with creases, also I think the rake was a bit ridiculous if I remember, but any of the smaller rooms tend to be. But the game is a push over and at times gets played pretty deep by players that are not good enough to play ss let alone 200-400bb deep.

Of the nicer rooms I play at the Wynn, not sure why just that's the one I have always been treated the best at, also they just take the 4 rake with no drop.

During the day the MGM games were always pretty good too.

What's standard wait times at Venetian 1/2 on weekend nights (ie after 10pm)? Weekday nights?

The Venetian's April DSE will be starting during your stay (starts April 1st). You'll still be able to get the regular noon daily on the 30th but after that it's all DSE at noon with BIs at 330 or 550 (can't find a schedule for it yet). The 7pm $130 BI tourney is OK, but I'm not a fan of the 20-minute blinds (they change it to 30-minutes when ITM). The 1/2 is cake there (as it is everywhere else in town) and during this stay will be containing a slightly heavier concentration of tourney players splashing around post-bustout.

Another question I have is who has the best buffet in Vegas? Where are some places I should go to eat? Once again I will be at Harrah's and it would be easier to stay in the casinos as I don't have a car. But what are some of the better restaurant/buffets that I can take my family to?

The buffet at Harrah's is not bad at all. For a better Buffet I would go to PH/Spice Market Buffet or Bellagio. As far as other places to eat you really have to narrow it down to what kind of eats you would be looking for.

This might help as well, CheapoVegas
