Preface: I'm planning to be in Vegas Dec 26-29th and need to some advice specifically about the Orleans Fri night tournament and a good place to watch the UFC fight.

I go to vegas usually 3 times a yr but usually for just a quick weekend trip or a little longer during the WSOP but i've just recently come across the orleans friday night tournament. Everything that i've read said that its pretty good value, gets a ton of ppl and the structure isnt the worst. Im wondering if anyone has recent experience about the tournament and if its still getting 200+ ppl every week, if its actually worth it, and the poker room in general. I usually just play cash games so the only tournaments i have played in vegas are at aria, venetian, and rio dailys during wsop. Any info about the orleans would be much appreciated!

I'm also going to be there during the UFC 168 fight (super psyched!) but dont have tix to see the fight and i know most major sports room arent going to show a PPV fight. Is there a good place to go and watch the fight (outside of going to like bww of course). I think someone told me that Lagasse's stadium @ palazzo usually will show them. Anyone have experience with the place or know of any other places around the strip?

Any info is much appreciated!

Haven't played the Orleans Fri night since June, but I very much doubt it's getting fields that big now. The big fields were during the WSOP. Just call them and ask, they'll tell you how big they are now.

Do a search on UFC. There are a few threads with info on the ppv fights.

Lagasse is a huge ripoff, imo. They'll probably have a minimum charge that's as much as a UFC ticket.

I played in the Friday night Orleans tournament in mid-November and they had just over 200 runners. Poker room was "fine" - not like some of the nicer rooms on the strip - but it was fine. I would play in it again next time I'm in town. Nothing bad to report - dealers were fine - poker room right near a small food court and bar. Structure was decent as well. If you're staying on the strip - there is a shuttle bus from Bally's (from outside the sports book) which will take you to the Orleans (it will also stop at the Gold Coast). It runs about every 15-20 minutes - so you can avoid taking a cab. I believe the shuttle runs to about 12:30am.

If you are that big of a UFC fan and you're going to be in Vegas, go to the freaking fight! It's so much better live! I was at the first Weidman vs Silva fight at the MGM and you would have thought you were in Brazil. So many Brazilian fans went home disappointed. Tickets are easy to get from scalpers and they really aren't that pricey either. I think I paid 40% of face value.

How many scandalous scalpers are there? Online prices are through the roof for this fight

I guess I'll have to go check out the deep stack @ Orleans then. And tix for UFC168 are ridic...I already reserved a table @ Legasse's stadium...said there's a 50 min food/drink purchase which is fine since I'm planning on watching most of the undercard and the main card as well. Thanks for the input guys!

I know you have your table but if anyone else is following this thread... If you're interested in buying off stubhub, call your hotel and give them a heads up that mail is coming for you and you can do it that way. Just list care of xxxhotel and date of arrival on the address

Hey Reesie, yep I joined the fight club and got my ticket as part of the presale...didn`t want to deal with scalpers. Now tickets where im sitting are going for over $2K online!I should sell mine, watch it at a pub and take a shot at 5/10.

Are you looking at going to the weighins, signings or any of the other stuff in the lead up to the event?Im travelling solo and am looking to take in as much of the week as possible so always keen to catchup with another fight fan for a few beers.

This isn't true for this fight. Everywhere I've looked prices are 200% or more of face value

at a mma event nothing wrong with going eye level above the octagon, row 10 -20 is great in my opinion... would rather be there, than back row 9 or 10 on the floor for the view

Good chance I'll be heading to the UFC usually just get a ticket on the day of.

Might head to weighin also if you guys are about. I would go for the numbered lower section seats tickets rather than the floor as the view is better unless you're ringside.
