The outdoor bar at the Flamingo had 3 dollar 90 minute IPA's when I was there last fall. Bar was only open for a few hours a night though iirc.

Is that the little side bar right next to Bill's/Barbary/Gansevoort/Cromwell? It always has advertisements on it, but I have never seen it open.

So it really was a quick 48 hours trip. Makes me rethink my next trip. I have to say that generally 3 nights is the death of me, but the last couple trips when doing 2 night, I hit it so hard that I think I'm taking a year of my life off of my future expected life value. So, if I were to guess my next trip, maybe I'll do a 3-4 night run, a little more low key, with lots of gamboool and with my wife. She likes to drink and gambool too, so imagine a 4 night right with Mr. and Mrs. Lawzag may be epic in other ways. Anyhooo....

Enough of the ramble. The first couple hours of my trip went pretty fast. Nothing is better than showing up at the casino with 35 minutes to kill and getting up super fast. The beauty of craps. But as you could tell by the reports...the casino givith the casino take it away. More on that below.

Highlight as always is Shadow Creek. Boys, this place is always a special treat in my heart. Just fantastic all around. Let me explain. First, the course is always just dynamic, in tip top shape and amazing. People ask what its like. Imagine driving through North Las Vegas. Taco Bell on one side of the street. Vegas porn shops on the other. A home depot right down the street. But all of sudden you make a right turn in the limo and all of a sudden you are transported into the Carolinas. Georgia pines, Asian shrubbery, Asian animals all around. Green, green, green, green and lush beyond belief. Simply amazing.

The course itself this year. Ballbuster. I had not swung a club since early September and it showed. Nonetheless, man the greens were difficult as ****. No strait puts. All breaks and quick as lightning. Rough about 6 inches deep and brutal. Tough yes. But the Caddies are 100% great and worth their service. Fun, energetic and a pleasure to spend 4 hours worth.

Moving on. So if you could not tell, we were literally flipping $20s in the limo ride back. We had lots of booze, even more booze in the limo and were ready to continue gambling. So what else to do? Flip $20s for heads or tails. Stupid yes. Fun at the time.

Lots of holes the rest of the day. But we made it back to gambool. Got killed. Made it back to the room. Raged the suit by drinking out both mini-fridges (each at $255 each - stupid stupid stupid decision) and went back to craps. Got killed again and then made it to Heritage Steak. Huge party of us...maybe 12. Dinner was muh. Much better the first time I was there. Maybe too drunk to enjoy (I'll admit) but it was just basic. Thank god our host comped dinner. We picked up the tip. Fine with me.

So where did that take us? Treasures. Or what I call the "danger zone." So our host found us a stretch hummer limo, and the 12 of us (with host in hand) piled into the limo. Now, I don't mind strip clubs. I mean who does not dislike seeing some boobies. But man. I know it and so do all of you guys. A strip club in Vegas and deplete my roll faster than Ned Flanders losing his "betting disc" at roulette. I'll admit though, I was impressed with this club. Our host set us up with bottle service quickly (grey goose, glenlevet, and crown) and we were all off to the races so to speak. I had about 2 drinks and before you know it I was "upstairs" with two gorgeous blonds. One was Russian. Quick money gone. I went back downstairs and then the bottle service turned into other "options" so to speak. It was snowing on the table and Molly had showed up. I picked the latter. Three more drinks in and I'm back up stairs with a couple of the other guys and I realize that ****....the girls are asking for "something more."

Okay....this is going beyond where I need to be. F-this. I'm f-ing Drago and I want to Gambool. I find our host and while a great entertainer, is eagerly wanting to leave. I tell him that I want to gambool and he quickly summons the Mirage limo to the club. We leave and the rest of the night leads to more gambling. See above. Foggy for the rest of the night. All I know is that BJ was awesome, craps was bad and I ended up in bed not with those two hot blonds, but a Fiji water and bag of pita chips. The Pita chips I think took full advantage of me and left me for a drunken mess. I crashed at about 4:30. Took three shots at the Revolution bar just to come down Molly for bed.

Next morning. Wake up. Felling "awesome" but not really. ITs 8 am. What should I do? Struggle to find my glasses on the floor and freshin up. Heart is still pounding and I move to the $25 two deck BJ table. I'm there alone. Actually met one of the original Mirage dealers one the joint first opened. She was fun and I enjoyed playing with her. About an hour in the table fills up with a bunch of hungover folks from Michigan. Great people. We pushed the bloody Mary's hard and had a great time. About 10?30 the rest of my crew grabs me to get breakfast. I agree and it results in the worst decision of the trip.

The Michigan folks stay at that same table all day. After I eat the table minimum jumps to $200 per hand which I decline to join. But after 9 hours of play, these people take the Mirage for about $120,000 run good. Seriously. When I find them at 5 pm, most are betting $1k per hand and running really good. Damn it. Oh well. Good people and actually one of the guys joins me in the baccarat lounge learning baccarat. Fun guy in deed. We bet $25 per hand...shooting the **** and laugh about how much we get destroyed at a game IMHO is stupid. Booo.

At that point, the one guy I have in tow that does not have any conference meetings or client dinners is "feeling sick." I try to push him till the day, but it fails. He literally bails. I mean bails. He takes the 7 pm flight home to Denver and leaves. What??? Yup. He goes home one day early. WTF??? What a vag. So I'm there at about 5 pm with about 6 hours to kill by myself until the other boys are done with their dinner and meeting for work. So I gamboool.

Kind of foggy here. I know I played lots at Mirage, went to the Venetian for Noodle Asia and more blackjack and then back to Mirage for craps, video poker and pai gow. Eventually I find the rest of the crew at about 11 pm at the craps table and we go on hella run. There's about 12 of us at the table and we raged 11s and 8s for about an hour. Helped the role indeed. But then I started to push it at $100 per bet and got killed in about 30 minutes.

Still foggy...I remember going back to Revolution for more Dogfish and then moved to Blackjack again. It was about 3:30 and about 5 of us decided now or never to get money back or go home losers. It got crazy. I do remember that on 4 bets I made $200 and lucky made some money back but then lost some. The last two hands I had $400 in front of me, down big and I put $400 and $600 on the last hands. Won them both and walked away.

Next morning woke up and barely made it to our flight. I remember trying to put my clubs back in the club case. I was a drunk monkey trying to complete a rubix cube. Disaster. Finally get my **** together and we made it to the airport. Crappy flight as always and made it home.

Successfully made it to dinner with Mumph. I vowed for no drinks that day. Standing at the bar. Hand shaking profusely and immediately went back to Vodka. Me. at a steakhouse ordering a bloody mary at 7 pm. Oh well. I needed the Vodka back. Ha!

So that's a little more details. Hope you guys enjoyed. I know I did.

Oh. And boys anytime you want to gamboool, just let me know. I'm there. While last Friday I could not consider the next time I'll be back, I'm already thinking about the next trip. Like joining Mumph and his wife next month??? Actually was invited to a golf tournament at the Alliante next month and I'm debating that. Any input on that place will help.

Glad you guys enjoyed the journey. Take care boys!!!!

Nice report
Spot on description of Shadowcreek.
Not sure if you mentioned in another report, but why mirage? Is it nostalgic or is it where you know where your level of play will get you rated the best?

About 4 years ago, a co-worker lined me up with my host there. Been pretty loyal to him since then and he's reciprocated with yearly comped rounds at Shadow, free rooms whenever I'm there and always taking care of meals, etc.... I'll admit I'm a little burned out of the place, but my host does a great job with comps, even though my rating probably does not deserve what he provides.

Plus I like the location and pool a lot. Love the back cabanas. Also, I like a lot of the dealers at the Mirage. Most of them came over from the Nugget with Wynn when he first opened the Mirage and been dealing for 25+ years. Great stories, good personalities and are the antithesis of the emotionless, faceless and boring dealers along the strip that simply just take your money. Hard to explain, but I love hearing a lot of their stories about what they've seen over the years. Knock it up as part my enjoyment during the gamboool.

I caddied at Shadow Creek when it first opened, wow what an experience that was...only like 10-20 rounds a week back then because you couldn't pay to get on at all, full of celebrities and degens that were either personally invited by Wynn or lost a **** load of money

got to see and meet many stars including Michael Jackson, who didn't play but they drove him around in a cart to show the course\scenery....

best highlight was shooting a 66 out there when I was a scratch player(long time ago) and Steve Wynn himself told me the next day when he was at the course, hey I heard you shot a 66 yesterday nice round my man...course was closed on Mondays and the caddies could play on that day if we wished too. actually quite a few caddies that worked back then were scratch golfers and we had great skins game

had to reply when I saw Shadow mentioned
