Landed in Vegas at 9:20 pm. In the airport, I met up w/a friend Scott from CT from a different flight. And my other friend Eric from AZ came to pick us up. Scott works as counselor and Eric is a marine. These guys are non poker players but they are definitely degenerates lol. As soon as we got outside of the airport, I felt the warmer climate. The weather was good except for the
rain. It was probably 55-60F compared to 5-10F in CT.
From the airport, we headed straight to Aria. We got to Aria self parking, took our luggage out, and walked in a circle to get to the hotel lobby. I later found out you can just walk outside across from the parking lot to the hotel lobby. As soon as we get into Aria, I already felt we were gonna have a blast for the night! Music bumping in every corner, live band playing, beautiful women left and right, promoters all over the floor, random people walking, food and drinks every where, hot waitresses flaunting their sexy body. This place is live! (urban dict: live).
We found the hotel lobby and I was ready to pop my first $20 trick. Immediately, I notice the hotel clerks were arms length away from each other. I felt uncomfortable knowing the hotel clerk standing next to the one Im talking to could hear our conversation. I start off the convo being extra polite and told the young asian lady that it's my first time in Vegas blah blah blah. I then followed Kingbbv's strategy. I did not slip the $20 in between the ID and CC. Instead, I told the lady Kingbbv's line "I normally give a tip blah blah" and asked for a complimentary upgrade. It must have been my bad english, or it could've been my accent, or maybe I didn't memorize the correct KingBbV line, but I choked and slightly stuttered...altho it did not look too awkward. The older lady next to the asian girl heard our convo of me asking for a comp upgrade. She gave the asian girl a look and then rolled her eyes. She looks like a supervisor but I couldn't read her badge. Anyway, she rejected my proposal and I moved on. Disappointed but it was all good! Finally, I felt relieved because I finally tried the famous $20 trick.
We got to the room on the 7th floor and as soon as we walked in, the curtains and lights automatically opens! Nice! We started to get ready and I texted back and forth w/ 2 different girls Im supposed to be meeting up with. The girl who texted earlier says she's downtown w/ friends and then told me to go to Diablo's Cantina. This is good as I have friends as well. However, It was raining outside and theres no way Im walking around the strip. So I cancel my plans w/ her and stop texting back to her. Then this other chick im texting wants to come w/ me to Haze. Her friends couldn't come and there's no way Im leaving my boys hanging (urban dict: hanging) on the first night. We're gonna get drunk and flirt w women all night! So I stop texting that chick and we started the night! Also, I got tired of texting back n forth when theres so many women everywhere!
Walked around and a random club promoter took my number and invited us to Haze. I wanted to get a table but did not want to spend all by myself altho I would if I had a baller bankroll like Harborlaw (I degened my $10k trip br to $6.5k a week prior). So I asked my 2 friends if theyre ok to split a table bill. And immediately I sensed their reluctancy. These guys have little BR, but im pretty sure they can afford it if we split it 3 ways. The price offer was $475/bottle + tax fees = $600+. My friend says to me, "what if this place is wack? How about we walk in first see." Tripadvisor did have a few negative reviews on Haze. He has a point. I agreed and proceeded to go in line. As we were waiting in line, I got a text from one of those promoter guys:
So he took us to his superior and I tried to negotiate but they wont do the $400 deal. No table, I guess. We walked in, crowd and music was good. I immediately headed to the bar to order me a greyhound! It was $14 and gave the bartender guy a $100 bill. He comes back to give me my change. He starts handing out $6 and asks me how much I gave him. Guy hides the rest of the cash in the other hand to try to trick me lol. Obv he was planning to keep the rest, had I said "$20." I told him "$100!" He unhides the rest of the cash and gave me the complete change.
The crowd at Haze was good but the dance floor was very small. Didn't really spot any girls to talk to (most are w/ men and the good ones are in a vip table). We got bored in less than 20 mins. We left and decided we will goto Drai's.
-rainy night, first cab in vegas
We took a cab and the driver dropped us off at Bills Casino. As we entered the casino, I notice a resemblance between Bills and the Trump Plaza casino in Atlantic city. The interior looks old and has a similar setup. The outdated look didn't matter. This is Vegas...the vibe, music, and the crowd was good.
We walked around and I spotted an open Blackjack table. I sat down and my two buddies followed. They were just watching at first but I convinced them to degen it up and put their money down. I've never played BJ in my life. Actually theres this one time I played at Foxwoods Casino, which I rly don't count as playing. I was given a free play and played one hand. I got yelled at by an older lady cuz I supposedly messed up her hand.
Ever since then I was scared to play BJ lol.
I was sitting on the far right and I notice I kept on asking the dealer to hit (idk what im doing). My buddies to my left and Eric kept saying, "dude what the ****, u keep messing up our cards!" I laugh it off and ignore them. I was winning and they were losing hahaa. I tell them "Im sorry man, dont worry we'll get that money back in craps." +$200 Bj profit.
Next, we moved on to the Craps table. I either play the 3 point molly betting or the "don't" side. Tonight we're playing the "don't" side. I told Eric who has never played Craps before to follow me and convinced him, "we're gonna win a lot of money tonight, trust me!" lol. Scott on the other hand says, "**** that Im playing the pass line." So the game started and we hit the 7s while ON. So far so good! Eric was starting to believe what I had promised him earlier. The 7's kept on hitting and Eric was celebrating. At one point he high five me and yelled, "yes! thank youuu!' and salutes his drink to the passline shooter. What a jerk, I thought. I was embarrassed by this and told him he can't say that because it's rude. It was his first time playing and sincerely he didnt know. I apologized to the shooter for my friend...but deep inside I was laughing.
A few mins later 3 guys (hollywood actors) joined the table. Me and Eric continued playing the "Don't." One of the new guys politely advised that me and Eric should play w/ everyone and bet on the pass line. I later found out this guy was Jonathan Tucker from Chainsaw Massacre. I told him that it's nothing personal and that my other friend, who is standing next to him is also playing the Pass line against Eric and I. He seemed like a nice guy so I said, "okay we'll try it." A few rolls of the dice and we were all celebrating. I order another grey hound from this thick older waitress. She comes back w/ my drink and says something about greyhound. And she rhymed something about she wants to pound me. Lol. Im not feeling her but I just smiled and she walks away.

It was maybe about 3 am and we notice Drai's line was starting to get packed. We begin to color up to get ready to leave. Before leaving, we asked these actors for a picture. We all won here. $+75 for me.
We get to Drai's and I don't even see a line, I just see a bunch of people trying to get in. I tell my friends that we need to get a table cuz I dont want to get in line. They don't want to at first. So I tell them, "how about this, Im gonna find girls and get them to join our table." And immediately they said yes. Now I know how to get these two get on the same page as me (later on Day 2, and 3, I used the same strategy on my two buddies which left them broke lol).
I looked around and saw 2 girls coming my way. Boom! I found them.
*Im tired of writing right now as im doing this on my iphone. I'll write the details on what happened at Drai's when I find time. I'll add some pics from Drai's cuz I dont want to leave the thread hangin. And also some previews of the next few days.

Escalade ride to Rhino! One of the funniest night ever. We only came here for happy hour to stay for maybe an hour. We were on a budget and just wanted to watch, finish the drink, and go back to marquee for monday's industry night. We ended up staying for 5 hours and my friend went missing in one of the back rooms for 2 hrs. We left this place laughing our ass off and somewhat in regrets cuz this place hurt our pockets. Haha
-Bands a make her dance! I changed my $100 bill into ones cuz I thought Id be throwing one dollar bills in the air. What ended up happening is my $100 bills were spent instead of the ones lololol. Im such a degen.
