Celebration dinner question - I’ll be out there on Tuesday and have Diamond for the first time. Do I need to go to the rewards counter or something to get a voucher for the dinner? Do I need to get a new card that says “Diamond” on it?

Also, how does the free parking/valet work? Do I show them my card when picking up my car or what?

congrats on becoming diamond!

a) go to the caesar's rewards desk, tell them you're a new diamond member and you'd like to redeem your comp dinner. they'll activate it on your card and give you a list of restaurants across all caesars' properties that you can redeem at. the comp itself is on your player's card, just present it when you get the check at the end of your meal.

b) i would get the diamond card printed, so you can flash it/present it when checking in at the podium for any cash games -- diamond and higher goes to the front of the line.

c) simply swipe the card at the valet kiosk or present it to the attendant when picking up your car from valet.

Perfect, thank you!

So I’m here now. Got my new diamond card. Asked about the celebration dinner. She said that’s only for Diamond Plus now. Anyone else encounter that?

Nah. Maybe she's thinking of the 4 free drinks.

Website still lists Celaebration Dinner as a benefit for regular Diamond cardholders.

Ok, yeah, I figured she was wrong. I’ll wait until later and go back down there to get clarification.

You don't need to go to the rewards desk for the celebration dinner anyway. Just go to an eligible restaurant and tell them you'd like to use your diamond celebration dinner at bill time.

I went back and a different lady said I was good and gave me the list of restaurants. First lady just didn’t know what she was talking about.

Sadly, this is typical CET customer service.

I'd check with them before eating
Sometimes it's not loaded right away

At most of the hotels, they just put that job onto the cashiers. I talked to a few of them on an earlier trip. They got zero training on it. Cheap casinos like Eldorado operate like cheapskates, which they are. I was sad when I heard they bought CET.

CET was a badly mismanaged company (putting it mildly). But I have yet to see much, if any, improvement since the El Dorado acquisition. All I see is more and more cost-cutting. In the immediate aftermath of the pandemic, that was expected. But we are past that now. Demand continues to be high, yet corners are still being cut. I know for a fact this has already chased many high-value gamblers away. At some point it will surely come with a steep price for El Dorado.

I'm not sure Eldorado will recognize that. Their target customer seems to be a slot player. They closed all the Strip poker rooms except Bally's.

I was hoping they would sell the WSOP soon to someone like the Fertittas.

I’m speaking more about general gaming. Live poker is what it is. You aren’t likely to see many casinos invest in it.

As for the WSOP, I think they do a really good job. Thus far I haven’t seen any negative effects of the El Dorado acquisition, and with just a few exceptions, I think moving to the strip has been a big positive for most players.

Wishing for the WSOP to be sold is kind of a “be careful what you wish for” proposition, IMO.

But I'm very specific about what I'm wishing for. :-)

I’m at 11k points roughly, I’ll probably grind it out to 15k by the end of the year then for the following year probably no more diamond

Yes but when I reset at 0 I highly doubt I get to 15 with the new next to nothing tier credits on sports betting. A 500 Ml bet only gets me 50 points now

I see Caesars heavily promoting a 10x tier credit promotion for the end of August/beginning of September.

I think this applies to poker as well, but am I missing something?

An hour at the Horseshoe playing $2/$3 or $3/$5 gets 34 tier points. So 10 house of playing should net 340 points X 10 = 3400 points. Do this for 3 days will net over 10,000 tier points. Add in the 5,000 credit card bonus or just random playing throughout the year and diamond is easily achieved with 3 days of poker?

Seems to hard to believe.

It does NOT apply to poker

You are probably correct because it would be too good and too easy to be true, but what is your basis for saying it does not apply to poker?

Reading the terms and conditions it doesn't say anything about specific games. It just says yo check in at the kiosks and earn points.

yea I'm at like 40k and would have hit diamond elite again if they didn't change how the sports betting tier credits work and they didn't nuke the casino bonuses. I'm definitely not forcing another 35k before the end of the year - 40k and 74,999 are exactly the same thing.

Diamond Plus, what is it good for? I never really thought about it much, but I've oddly/accidentally stumbled into range of getting it during a multiplier period. According to the CET website, the only benefit it gets vs plain old Diamond is access to Laurel lounges. There's aren't any in Vegas.

Are there any other benefits to Diamond Plus?

You get 4 free drink vouchers (I believe up
To $25 value each) which can be used at many (but not all) establishments within CET properties.

That doesn’t mean you get $100 worth of free drinks. Just 4 drinks, each up to $25.

In the past the drink vouchers were actually printed out, but now you just need to present your TR card and id.
