Couple of questions:

1. Is Uber always cheaper than cabs in vegas?
2. Is Uber managable to use on the strip? I know there are taxi lineups at hotels....how do you get an Uber in that scenario?

What is the advantage of Uber over Lyft?

I used Lyft almost exclusively on my last visit, and thought it was significantly better than cabs on almost every level. The only exception being needing to have a conversation with the driver about where the pick-up is every time.

It seemed like many drivers drove for both Uber and Lyft, and strongly preferred Lyft. Is Uber much cheaper?

There is no real advantage in Uber over Lyft. I've mostly used Uber in my time but have been using Lyft more and more, with the primary reason that they treat their drivers much better. The more you learn about the differences on that front the more your conscience will tell you to use Lyft.

I agree about the pick up location confusion with Uber or Lyft. Every single time we used Uber in LV it required at least 2 phone calls with the driver trying to figure out where we where. Even when we were somewhere super obvious like the main entrance/cab drop off of TI or the Mirage, the drivers couldn't figure out where we were. However, I also have to admit that out of all of our rides only 1 of the drivers first language was English.

Was out in Vegas couple weeks ago. Most of the casinos had some sort of sign indicating pick up spot for Ride share (uber/lyft). Only 1 time did we need to call our person to figure out where he was, we were at the wrong entrance spot at Aria.
