dropped my laptop while getting on the bus and cant get it to come on for nothing screen is black. someone please look at it or refer me to a good cheap tech not over $25, for things aint been going well, and i need to hold onto at least 25 $40-60 buyins, im running outta money.

since i wont be reachable online find tony bigcharles in the stratosphere poker room today or call and ask for my room. (i dont need to mention the room number here, just ask the operator for me). surely theres a computer tech around. am at the internet cafe for $5 for 20 minutes, a huge ripoff right next to the stratosphere. need to use my own computer so i can get my last $273 off absolute poker.

Tony, if you dropped a laptop and the screen doesn't come up anymore, you likely have busted it way more then a $25 fix. Laptops are great until you drop them, then they are just junk.

Most expensive part of the laptop is the screen. Could run anywhere from $400-800 depending on size and type of screen. I don'tknow any computer techs there, however maybe ask someone at the Internet Cafe? They might know, or ask your concierge if they have a recommendation

probably because ive got so little left of that $3500 roll i came to vegas with, i can barely pay $30 to get a room for 2 more nites, let alone paying to fix a computer or buy a new one.

WHy has no one asked you how you are posting if your laptop is broken? Are you just guessing? If so I don't see how they can be beating you at poker.

just take the last of your roll and go back home to kansas. everyone on pocketfives told you how insane your plan was when you made that thread two weeks ago or whatever it was.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JUST GO HOME AND STOP GAMBLING.

Even if you could get a replacement screen compatible with your laptop for free, I think it is unlikely you'll be able to find anyone willing to do the work to replace it for less than $50 or $100. In my limited experience, laptops are a pain in the ass to work with and I doubt anyone would figure it was worth their time to do a laptop screen replacement for less than that.

sevencard has been posting his exploits all over the innernets since way before that p5s thread. guy is autistic with a young (pre school age afaik) son he leaves his mother to raise. posts like augie's are all too familiar.

tony take it as a sign and go home to your family

Tony, listen to the advise your friends at PTP gave you. You can go home, be with your kid, and still play poker in KS.

Also Tony, there might be a ray of hope for you, re: your laptop.

My buddy's laptop just quit working one day. For weeks would turn it on, and it would start to startup and then just turn back off. Eventually he got pissed one night and threw the laptop against his wall. He left it there for a few months. One day he tried to start it and it worked perfectly, and still does to this day.

Cliffsnotes: Try throwing it

This is what my high school chemistry teacher called "percussive maintenance." It worked like a charm, too.
