Don't use it on anything poker related just by reading your post you are a mega fish will have no chance at big money. You best chance at a "big score" is winning a jackpot.

Absolutely I am I doubt I can beat 2/5 much less 5/10 right now but I can manage to grind out a decent hourly on the weekends at 2/3...

I'm not talking about the long term...if you had a grand to blow (I don't like regular casino gambling) and were average at best at poker on the lowest stakes...what would you use that grand on is what I'm asking...

The aria $125 seems good too and I just checked the Venetian $500 is only on the first Saturday so that leaves the Bellagio $545 as my only "Big" option

I may end up doing a combo like I said where I grind 2/5 Friday night and if i get AA vs KK and double up I can use it to enter the $545 trny or the 5/10 game

Recently played PLO for the first time, in vegas. I short bought for 200, but saw multiple 2-4k pots pushed. I 2nd, 3rd, 4th, w.e. the motion for plo. I had never played before and didn't feel like I was a huge dog at the table, mostly that I was more scared money than the other players. Seriously though, it's a sick game and I'm going to attempt to learn it after seeing what I saw in the hour or two that I was in that game at the V.

The Venetian PLO game can be sick. There are some degens in that game and you can win or lose thousands in a session.

PLO is probably better than hold 'em for a fish because hand values are much closer together in PLO. There can be some big swings in that game and if you are catching a few cards you can win a lot of money - probably more than if you had the same run of cards at a hold 'em table.

When you sit at the 1/2 PLO game there you will feel like you're sitting at a 5/10 table by the size of the pots.

just play the 2/5 at bellagio with 2 bullets

plenty of action in that game, if you win early then move straight up to 5/10

forget PLO unless your experiance in the game

At least that's EV neutral...that's better than what you will get at a 5-10 table or at any table game.

We can also chop it up and say do 2 flips of $500 if you want.

If you're going to play poker play the Wynn 2/5 or Venetian 2/5 and sit with the $1k. No point in sitting at 5-10NL with $1k - too easy to just bleed off chips until you've got like $400 left and end up doing something stupid.

But if I were you I'd play blackjack at $50/hand and try and run it up to $4k.
