Venetian 1/2 should be top of your list. Good room, no jackpot drop, games are always running and the $2/hour in comps is the best plan around, dollars can be used for anything.

flamingo's is soft too you also have Bally's, PH, Ceasars, Bellagio, Aria all very close. Ceasars just redid there's and it looks pretty awesome.

You guys must all be superstars at poker. It seems everyone is of the opinion that every game in town is "soft". It reminds me of the Prairie Home Companion when he says that all of the children are above average.

I don't remember seeing anyone ever say that. People are just talking about 1-2 and 1-3 NL, and those limits will not have nearly as many decent players as higher limit. It's not much different than saying 2-4 and 3-6 limit are soft. The players don't even get pf play anywhere close to right, and that's the easiest round to play.

But I'm probably being trolled so whatever.

It's not unreasonable to assume that the average two plus two reader is better than the average Vegas 1/2 player.

And to further subdivide, the average LVL contributor who is going to offer an opinion on the relative "softness" of Vegas 1/2 games is likely in the higher end of the player pool.

More likely it's an overly inflated opinion of their own greatness.

Could be wrong, but I would think a 2+2er is likely to be at least slightly more aware of their game leaks and working to improve.

Average tourist is just there to gamble and play flop bingo.

Flawed logic. Anyone saying "X room is softer than Y" is more likely to be talking at best anecdotally and at worst out of their ass, since that's never automatically true. Anyone in the higher end of the player pool is going to know that the when/where/why of "soft" (and aside from that, good luck defining "soft" in a way that everyone would agree on) games is never nearly as simple as "this casino instead of that one." It's what makes threads like this a farce every time.

Yes, that is all 100% true.

My comments were a response to one commenter saying

1) "All 1/2 games are soft"

and a second commenter replying saying

2) "How can all you 2+2 players be above average".

There are no easy vs. tough rooms for 1/2.
It's 1/2, so games vary wildly, but you are just not to run into a shark-infested table full of pros.

Which doesn't mean that some tables aren't easier than others, or that any 2+2er can always sit down and print money.

Agreed. 1-2 NL is the lowest level you can play in Vegas. Of course the games are going to be soft. You don't need to be a poker superstar to be much better than players that can't even get the basic fundamentals right.

Almost every 1-2 NL player I see would dramatically improve their game if they got a beginners book and actually studied it and followed its advice.

The average 1-2 NL player is going to be around the 5th best player at his table. That's pretty bad when we're talking about the lowest level of play.

Of course the most avg 1/2 player would be the 5th best. DUCY?

when talking about average halves of players, are we talking about the bottom half of the player, the top half of the player; or perhaps some sort of left/right split in which the handedness of the player may come in to play on which side (left or right) is the better half of the player?

There is no money to be made at 1-2. Everyone's solid.

Lol but seriously, if you're constantly seeing around 3-6 players that are better than you at these tables, then you're pretty bad. But the average player might not realize he is this bad.

Im talking 9 handed sir. No halving of the person necessary.

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Looks like a quaint 4 on each side.

If we were playing 10 handed it would obviously by left/right split not top/bottom.

Depends what you are looking for. I prefer ARIA: nice atmosphere, nice looking waitresses, tasty beverages, friendly people, relatively stronger competition.
