All I know is one of the Red Rock poker dealers, who is now at Alliate, said the plan is to open at 11:00 pm on 11/11.

It's one of the north-most expansions in the Valley. Gotta really go far to get there.

There were a ton of people there last night. I played the $2-10 until it broke and then the $1-3 NL and left around 9:00 am.

The poker room reminds me a lot of Red Rock's poker room and the casino reminds me a lot of the Cannery.

PS, FWIW, It's spelled Aliante.

Okay in Relation to the Suncoast were would it be. We love to golf and would like to try something new.

Which courses is it close to. Would I be correct to assume it is in the Sante Fe Station Area?

I live near Suncoast and it's about 20 or so miles from the Suncoast.

A friend told me Aliante is near a golf course but I'm not a golfer so sorry I can't help with the golf.

It's a lot closer to Santa Fe Station then it is to Suncoast but still kind of far from everything, IMHO.

Aliante Station is right next to Aliante Golf Course (literally right across the street). I've played the course a few times since my uncle lives in Aliante. It's super nice and it's also part of the OB network so if you have one of their cards you can get a discount. They are also affiliated with Legacy in GV and Angel Park in Summerlin.

Sorry, I'm about the only one who has played chiming in so far. Hope other 2+2ers chime in soon ;-)

Anyway, they get $1-3 NL and $2-4 (limt) everyday. $2-10 (which I love) is hit & miss, with a lot of miss of late.

They have had $2-5 NL spread but good luck on that going much.

As I write this, they have two $1-3 NL's going & two $2-4 limit's going.

Also as I write this, Orleans has 15 total cash games going. Santa Fe has 5 & Red Rock has 11.

Showed up Sunday night to check out the Mexican restaurant and play some poker. 9 names on 4/8 list, 6 on the 1/3 NL list. Guess which is called down...yes, the NL list. We start the game actually 8 handed as a few drop ins show up. It's now a must move game after the first round into 1 of the other 2 games. The other one isn't a must move, so now I'm slightly confused. Their must move is handled this way: last in, first move unless someone else volunteers. This is in contrast to the normal first in, first move, no volunteers. First we are told it's must move for 1 hour. No biggie. 1.5 hours go by and the boss is still moving people and he says "oh it's must move permanently, the 1 hour was a mistake". Ok yay. Now the game goes down to 5 players and everyone wants to chop blinds and play no hands. I don't chop once, another player gets up. The rest continue to chop 4 handed and I just get up and cash out. Low and behold, there are 3 seats at the other game that is the destination game. They didn't to break our must move game in order to protect the "main" (of 2) games, but yet both tables played short.

IMO, the room is nice and spacious but the must move thing needs changed or to be eliminated. You just can't effectively run a MM on low limit games the way they are above (last in first move and so on).

I like the room overall. The action was decent but I did sit with several Santa Fe regulars and dealers from there, which is always a good thing to have dealers playing

Too far of a drive for me. 42 minutes door to door from the southwest side of town.

OK I am confused on this Must Move Could you explain a bit more.

Why a 1-3 and not 1-2 What is the purpose of this?

Lots of rooms have a 1-3. Caesars and the Wynn on the strip. The Wynn actually uses $3 chips. I have come to like them, but most people hate them. When I usually buy in, I ask for a stack of red ($100) three stacks of goldish brown ($180) and a stack of blue/white ($20). That's my $300 buy in.

Any more updates on the pokerroom and the casino?

Yes, they have trouble holding games together as of late. Got a few friends that work up there and they said it's hurting "BIG TIME" in exact words. Late night, 11pm'ish you might find 1 or 2 games left and they aren't lasting throughout the night on weekdays. Weekends picks up a tiny bit, but not a whole lot.

One more question. We usually stay at the Suncoast when we do our golfing vacations. We like the fact that we have quick access to a bunch of courses. THe other thing we love is there are tons of restaurants in walking distance and the area is super safe.
Suncoast has trouble keeping NL games going though.

How does the Alliante compare?

Another question I checked on Google Earth and there is not much in that Area.

What is around the casino? I know with the Suncoast there are tons of restaurants and shopping. What is it like at the Alliante?
