Which team would that be? I thought the NFL had enough moves recently.

Also since when is Vegas big enough for 2 NFL teams? What team is as popular as the Raiders in Vegas?

Maybe Chargers. Then the Raiduhs can go to San Diego or LA.

Maybe good for them but probably not good for customers. If it's a success, money will go to bonuses and dividends. If it's a failure, banking customers will pay for it.

From what I have read, Adelson wants to become a minority owner or have at least a path to ownership if he's involved with the stadium. That's something the other owners are not comfortable with and was apparently one of the reasons why he dropped from the Raiders project.

The Rams and Chargers have been the first moves since the Oilers went from Memphis to Nashville in 1998.

Two teams that might relocate in the nearer future are the Bills and Jaguars. Toronto and London want to get a team.

That team would come instead of the Raiders not in addition to them.

The Chargers moved to LA not even two months ago. No way the NFL will relocate them again immediately. They have a lease at StubHub Center and are building a new stadium together with the Rams.

But the Chargers didn't want to move to L.A.

what a disgraceful use of tax money. and i say this as a huge sports fan and say it for any team getting a stadium with public money.

If you say "the Chargers", who are you specifially talking about? Nobody forced the Spanos family to move the franchise to LA. They wanted to have a new publicly funded stadium to make more money, the city didn't want to pay for it, so the team left.

"I don't want to move away" and "I am not going to move away if you give me a billion" are hardly the same thing.

Without a publicly funded stadium that costs at least a billion, no other team will consider moving to San Diego. That's just the way NFL economics work.

Cliffs what happened the last couple of days:

- Oakland announced they want to keep the Raiders, build a new stadium http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...n-keep-raiders
- Goodell says not good enough http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...l-keep-raiders
- vote on relocation is still expected to happen at the owners meeting that starts tomorrow

There's speculation the city of Oakland only put in that last minute effort after they had been informed that owners would vote "yes" anyway. Probably so they can claim they really tried and the greedy Davis family and other owners are the only ones to blame for the Raiders leaving.

I certainly hope that speculation is true.

Oakland really did try for many years, and the greedy Davis family really are the only ones to blame. Every other year they'd be clamoring to leave, then they'd realize nobody wanted to commit a billion dollars to a 2-14 team, then wonder why Oakland wasn't showering them with love they felt they deserved.

Excellent.

Have fun with the Raiders, guys.

Looks like the new stadium will be ready for the 2020 season. For '17 and '18, the Raiders have an option to stay in the Coliseum without Oakland having a say in that. But they don't have a home for '19.

So Adelson is stuck on the outside looking in? Bet he is PISSED!

Might need to start a new Las Vegas Raiders thread given Sheldon's absence.

I was about to PM gobbo and ask him to change the title on this thread, but a new one is obv. fine too.

From what I understand Sheldon still won. Public funds were diverted away from his competition.

Imagine playing for the Raiders and betting on yourself every home game in the sports books

I would put my money on the Coliseum. The Raiders are very good renters.

So happy right now... I'm not even a Raider fan.

Since players aren't allowed to bet on games my guess is that they'll continue to bet if they like using private books with better (less vig) lines like non-idiots.

Locked, discussion moved to new thread. **** Adelson.
