Doing work, running decent and stealing a few on a pretty straight forward table. Just stacked a guy with JJ, flop was KsJs5d. I bet small on the flop and got raised. He bet 50 on the 10h turn with only about 85 behind and reluctantly called when I put him all in. The river paired the 10 but I’m assuming he was drawing dead to a queen at best. Gonna play a little longer then more than likely head to Fremont St.

Gave some back but ended up cashing out +215. In an Uber heading to Fremont St. Catching an Uber from the Venitian is no easy task, probably a half mile walk through the mall into the 2nd floor parking garage! There was some nice scenery along the way at least.

Just got back from Fremont St, had a really good time just casino hopping and watching the street performers. We hit the Golden Nugget, Binion’s, The D, Four Queens, Fremont & El Cortez. We played some Pai Gow & Ultimate Texas Hold ‘em together and I played a little BJ and shot craps at Binion’s. I locked up some small wins and was doing ok until I lost 300 playing UTH @ El Cortez. Rallied a little at the end and got 200 back shooting dice at Binion’s. I tried a new system of just placing every number for $30 including the point, then picking up my bets after 3 hits. I screwed up once and left my bets on trying for a 4th hit and paid for it with an ugly 7-out. I’ll definitely experiment with this system again though!
Overall this was definitely the most enjoyable day of the trip so far. Hopefully tomorrow is another good day and we keep the remaining bankroll intact. We’ve got tickets to see Daniel Tosh at 10 pm with a nice dinner planned beforehand. Two members of the bachelor party are coming in a day early and will be here around 4 pm tomorrow, including the groom Ryan. More updates coming….

Hit the Egg Slut at the Cosmo for breakfast. First time there, I got the bacon egg & cheese sandwich with truffle hash browns. It was good not great. Made reservations at Smith & Wollensky in Venetian for an early dinner at 5:15. We were on the list at Aria but it was long and slow moving. We hopped in a cab and got right into a new 1/2 game at MGM Grand. Very first hand I turned top 2 with 10-8 in a limped pot. Got 3 streets of value from A5 on a 10-5-2-8-J board. In for 200…

Really should’ve checked this room out sooner. Super soft action with pretty bad tourist types. Got some unusual action with AA, 2 limps I make it $12 from the SB, BB and first limped call. The second limper makes it $22 (not sure if he meant to), I 4-bet to $62 and everyone folds. Very next hand I have JJ on the button and open to $12 over a limper, both blinds and the limped call. SB leads for $22, cutoff calls and I make it $90, they both fold. Few orbits later I raise As9s to $12 after a limper get 2 callers. Flop QhJd8c checks through, I turn a straight with the 10d turn. I lead for $20 get raised to $45 and call. I check call $35 on the river and I’m good vs a set of jacks lol.
Lost an all in pre with AhQh for $54 vs AK then lost with top pair to a short stack’s rivered flush. Did see a Royal flush get dealt, but it was only one card so it didn’t qualify for any promos, which of course most of the table thought was a huge injustice. Still doing well, about to rack up and get ready for dinner tonight…

Back in the room after a long but really fun evening! Left MGM Grand up $184 and cabbed it back to Caesars to change clothes and get ready for dinner. My buddy Ryan, the bachelor of honor, flew in a day early so I hooked him up with a comped night at the Mirage. He took the little known shortcut of flying through Pittsburgh from Orlando to get to Vegas. That’s really wanting to get to Vegas early!!
After we got him checked in, we walked across to the Venitian for dinner at Smith & Wollensky. First time there for both of us and it did not disappoint. Very classy, old school steakhouse vibe with really good service. We opted for the lobster & crab cake appetizer and shared a 28 oz bone-in Ribeye with truffle Mac & cheese and crispy Yukon gold potatoes for sides. All the dishes were delicious and well prepared. I was a big fan of the Yukon potatoes! The price was comparable to other upscale steakhouses, taking into account the rising price of beef. Our bill came out to $150 before tip, which was strictly the food only as we didn’t order any cocktails. I’d definitely recommend Smith & Woolensky!
After dinner we had a few hours to kill before seeing Daniel Tosh at 10 pm. We walked down the strip to Harrah’s and found a $25 Pai Gow table. We both ran decent and locked up a win and moved down to the Linq. I’m a big fan of this casino, I like the atmosphere and they offer some decent lower limit table games. I dumped a couple hundred on the Craps table but hit a nice run on UTH and would up ahead about $150.
Meanwhile, Ryan wasted no time firing a parlay as soon as he dropped his bags off in his room. It was a 2-teamer with St Bonaventure College basketball and the Seattle Kracken. I had to take a piece so I was in for $100. The Bonnies were +6.5 and won outright and we took the puck line on the Kracken +1.5. They were tied 3-3 going into he 3rd as we made our way back to the Mirage to see Daniel Tosh at 10 pm. We watched most of the 3rd period and the Kracken scored a late goal and also won outright so we cashed on the parlay! My $100 will get me a $170 profit.
After sweating the game, we made our way to the Mirage Theater to see the show. There were 2 openers, one was good the other was just ok. I used to watch Tosh.0 on the regular so I was looking forward to seeing his standup. He’s got a very twisted and dark sense of humor, which is definitely my kind of comedy. Daniel isn’t afraid to be an equal opportunity offender and he for sure won the crowd over. He gives you your money’s worth for sure as he performed for over an hour!

Saturday was the last day of the trip for the girlfriend. We hooked up with Ryan and Adam, the first two arrivals for the bachelor party. We tried to eat breakfast at Peppermill but the wait was ridiculous. We walked across the street to Resorts World and wound up having a mediocre breakfast sandwich in the bar/grill at the sportsbook. We cabbed it back to the Mirage and the gf and I walked across to Harrah’s for some low limit Pai Gow. We both lost and while she was waiting in a long line to cash out what was left of her chips, I jumped on a nearby craps table and got most of my losses back. Did a quick hit and run in time to slip the gf my chips and avoid going to the back of the line.
She caught an Uber to the airport and I caught a few hours of extra sleep before catching up with the full bachelor party crew. There’s five of us total and we all jumped in an Uber XL and proceeded to Fremont St. I had to get food because I skipped lunch so they headed off to El Cortez. While I was eating Ryan texted me that I missed a big one. He was on a Link slot machine and hit for $12K!! This guy runs so good playing slots but I can’t stand ‘em and haven’t put a dollar in a machine in many years.
I eventually caught up with them and we ended up at Binion’s shooting dice. I was getting buried and they again found more machines to try while I kept slogging away at craps. I finally had a good roll this trip and hit 3 points plus lots of numbers and erased most of the losses. Played a little pai gow there also and got the rest back to leave with a small profit. We watched some of the street performers and just took in the sights. Fremont was super packed!
After we got back to the Mirage I hopped around on some table games. I caught a good shoe on a $25 BJ table, dumped $350 at craps then found a $25 Free Bet BJ game. Once again got a nice shoe and walked out of the Mirage a small winner. I walked across the street to Harrah’s and immediately got stuck shooting dice. Moved to pai gow and was close to getting even before dusting it off. Took one last shot at a $50’double deck BJ table and turned $300 into $815 before the dealer even re-shuffled!
That got me close enough to even and I called it a night. Currently sitting in Denny’s for a late night Grand Slam. Big day tomorrow, we’ll be at Gilley’s in Treasure Island to watch the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, Ryan and I have a couple of good sweats tomorrow with golf/Rams parlays. Ryan bet a few two teamers with golfers to win the Waste Management Open parlayed with the Rams moneyline. We have 2 guys in contention, Scottie Scheffler & Xander Schauffele both starting the final round 2 off the lead. This could make for an extra exciting Super Bowl! I’m only in for 25% of the tickets but still a good sweat.
