possible to watch CR vids on my iPod? possible to watch CR vids on my iPod?

I have a job that requires a 40 minute commute each way. I'd love to pass that time watching the vids, but IIRC, every time I start to play one, it needs to connect to the internet to verify my subscription...does this mean that there's no way for me to 'download' the video to watch when offline (e.g. on the bus?)

in its current format no, you can't watch it on your ipod (or xbox360 )

if they removed the drm then yes, you could watch it on ur ipod

google

oh and you can watch deucescracked videos on ur ipod as they don't use drm, hopefully the rest of the industry follows their lead.

So Deucescracked vids basically just allow you to "save to your hard drive", and play them, even when offline?

Is there a way to "record" the content of a video playing onscreen? Like a "print screen" function but one that captures video and not just still images? I think I tried the Camstasia product once and was underwhelmed. In fact, now that I think about it, this might not be useful anyway b/c it wouldn't capture audio...oh well, cast my vote for finding some way to allow offline playback of my CR videos...I wonder whether there's some sort of application that allows playback of a video for a restricted period of time, say 24 hrs, and then renders the file unplayable? If so, I think that would be a great compromise solution to look into -- think about it >> if CR's main concerned is not wanting their vids floating around the net for anyone to steal and watch, allowing subscribing users to download them to their hard-drive in a "time-restricted" format would be perfect so I could download a few in the morning to my laptop for my work commute, but they'd become unwatchable 24 hrs later (thus protecting CR's intellectual prop"

Hmmm...at first i thought you misunderstood what i was asking (e.g. i explicitly want OFFLINE viewing capability)...but then i thought more about it: what if I downloaded a video (and authenticated myself while still online at home), but then paused the video and took my laptop on the bus...i could watch that video in its entirety, right? e.g. the DRM doesn't require an ONGOING connection to the internets, does it?

DRM protected WMV files generally require windows media player. Ipods don't have WMP, but your laptop presumably does. WMP will need an internet connection to authenticate, but once authenticated, will then allow the video to be played without internet connection for some number of days, after which it will need to be authenticated again.

With regards to "ripping" a video being played: logic would dictate there's always a way (think: analog hole), but talking about it here will get your post moderated.

You can watch videos without an internet connection, but only using WMP11 (which is exclusive to Windows). Simply download however many videos you want to watch offline, open them one by one, enter your info, and authenticate each one. Once a license is acquired for a video, it lasts 14 days before expiring and requiring an internet connection.

Yes, it's possible to get the vids onto your PSP for playback without an internet connection or the hassle of DRM.

As easy as loading any other video file would be. The vids are about 100mb each though.

At the moment no portable device is supported with the exception of those equipped with full Adobe Flash.
