Hit and run (pokerstars) Hit and run (pokerstars)

Hi, as some of you know, I have had a really nice run at stars 2/4 (and some 1/2) last 2 weeks. From a deposit of 2k i managed to get my roll up to 200k but dropped down to 170k. Since 170k is like 3 times more than all funds I had to my name prior these 2 weeks it is a lot of money for me and therefore I decided to cash it all out Im no pro as many of you probably are but just a simpel college student (age 20). Maybe Ill see you someday at the tables again.

Best Regards
JessLove

Maybe this should be in bbv..

Nice to hear a success story go home before they give it all back, i think it is the right move for you at this point in your life, just make good use of the money and dont go blowing it on partying. Although, to be honest, anyone with enough intelligence and composure to realize when the jig is up, is also most likely going to be responsible with their money. Best of luck, jesslove.

Ju so crazy

Nice score.

"Congrats" I guess, but this is a bizarre post... people go on heaters all the time, if we posted them all this forum would be a mess... maybe a blog is more appropriate, or BBV seeing as this is a pure brag and nothing more.

I'm only down 9k to him I guess that means that I am significantly better than otter. But JessLove its sad to see you go, not that I think you were a bad player but you got games started.

Jess, it was great fun playing with you. And not just 'cause I ran good - you were friendly at the tables, and didn't pitch a fit when I had to leave after a short (winning) session one time.

Dude, get some tax advice quick....you'll need to make estimated payments over the rest of the year to avoid penalties & interest for not paying your tax as you earned it...and also, get some planning to figure out how much to put in tax free bonds, how much to invest in regular bonds, how much to put into an IRA etc; and i also suggest keep you mouth shut about your good fortune--word gets around and you will see everyone coming to you with their palms out and a sob story...

i believe you planned out you poker playing strategies, & you had a great stroke of fortune, but how to handle success also has to be planned for as well...

if you've already taken out the money i guess you are considered to have earned it for income tax purposes...

you could have considered moving to a tax free state for the rest of the year before taking out the money, you would have saved yourself a few thousand if you live in California/New York/Mass---don't know if you could do that easily your being a student

still, you've got problems i wish i had...congradulations

If he earned the money in X state and "moves" to y state, he still owes income tax in X state.
