Update: Called PSN to cancel the initial digital download and they will refund in 3-5 days, but now have to buy more credit to purchase the collectors edition in the meanwhile to take advantage of the pre-order special LOL. They can be glad I want to get Star Wars Battlefront later this year as digital download also ...

Wait, what's the preorder special?

I have not ordered the taken king yet, can someone tell me the best thing to purchase?

Preorder bonus is a suros weapon collection / emblem / shader IIRC. everyone will have access to it in 2016-ish.

A) $40 - The Taken King (most likely buy this)
B) $60 - Legendary edition - Taken King + Destiny + Dark Below + House of Wolves. (Perhaps nice if you have to use a disc to play destiny and don't want to bother any more, otherwise no better than A) Not sure this is even up on the store yet.
C) $80 - Taken King Digital Collector's Edition (I bought this because lol why not) - Same as B but contains 3x bonus dances, 3x shaders and 3x exotic cloak / towel / armband. Which will be sold separately for $20, but aren't yet. Tiny possibility of special "unknown rewards" for having wasted money on Bungie, but most likely that's reserved for those that bought this months ago.

Brag: Having a wife that plays Destiny with you
Beat: Having to double dip for every DLC

There's a trick you can do setting "primary console" to each other's. Suppose it might not work on DLC, not sure. Def works for full digital games on PSN. Worth investigation.

If you have both DLC you don't need to fork out 80 bucks for the collectors edition. Go into Destiny and on TTK, there you have Rene options to purchase and the collectors upgrade is "just" 60 bucks.

A few months ago I tried everything that was out there (360), not sure if I tried that one. Also doesn't help that I have a disc, and her copy is digital. But if I could get that to work, it'd work out better for me to just buy the digital edition and one copy of TTK.

Ah yeah I think the "primary console" business is a PS4/Xbone thing. The terminology I use is PS4, but I'm 90% certain xbone has a similar trick.

Yep, XB1 has it. If the account that is set as your main account purchases a game, all the other accounts on your console can use it.

this isn't new and the $20 thing is a result of people bitching about the $80 price tag when there are no physical items

It definitely wasn't available a week ago, maybe just unlocked once the 2.0 patch went through. Well played again by Bungie to screw up the release time and make people stand up very early or pull an all nighter only to go live on the usual weekly reset time.

Kerowo, Dave and I are running throughout the first missions. First cliffs: Very early blue gear has better light than our year one exotics lol. Graphics on the Dreadnaught are nuts tho.

On a bright note for those who bought the next DLC it sounds like you can hit level 40 in under an hour if you buy red bull lol.
