Re: Moving Up Through uNL in 2010

Verneer, Could I pay for a CR subscr. via PS or FTP? Also, do you have any other threads containing advice on not only beating the micros but learning as you beat them?? I'm currently playing 5NL 6max an believe in strict BRM to prevent going busto, an since you think the same way on that topic, I believe your advice an knowledge would be much helpful.

If you want you could PM me. Thks

dude go to the CR or Stox websites and read all about the truly free poker training via FTP. You are going to need to get to at least 25NL and preferably 50NL to be able to get enough points for CR though.

To get it 100% free, yes, but even playing ~7-9k hands a month at 10NL, I tend to get 1 free week a month, because they give it in 25% increments.

Re: Moving Up Through uNL in 2010

I play on stars and ftp, and prefer stars micro cash games. FTP takes a ton rake and the RB doesn't make up for it at 5NL. I've seen the offers they have for stox/CR and it's almost not worth it as far as paying in ftp's. I was just wondering if I could send money through my acct. to pay for the subsc.

I asked Taylor about this and he said that you can do transfers through FTP. If you need more info, you can post it in the CR/Stox forum - I'm sure someone there would be able to answer any additional question that you might have.

The short answer is to work on your hand reading and understanding of ranges. The long answer is ... well ... long.

I did get the following message from a CR member:

"Thought you may like some feedback on your micro training videos, the lowest point of my graph I started watching and studying your videos. Since doing this I was able to crush 10nl easy as hell and am now just moving up to 25nl finding it ok but alot harder than 10nl. Both your micro video series have been a huge help to me so thankyou."

And he posted this graph:

Now - I think the general preflop and postflop advice I give allows you to have a relatively flat red line at the micros (refer to my own graphs). This guy must have taken some of the things I've talked about and mutated them. I am intrigued by what he is doing so him and I will hopefully talk more and I'll be able to let you know.

Another player who wins pretty much exclusively at non-showdown is GROGHEADFLOW, a Leggo Poker instructor. I'll post his graph below:

If you get a chance to watch his video, he doesn't like folding (preflop, to 3-bets, postflop with a pair or draw, etc). It's fairly eye opening to see that style in action as it's so different from my own.

Great thread. I've always enjoyed your strategy posts. When are you going to post the cutoff strategy?
