Yikes, I almost missed it. Usually I get a reminder email but not this year. It took seeing Alex Jacob on Jeopardy for me to say "hmm I wonder when that test is?"

I took tonight's test as practice (it's up on YouTube already) and crushed it. I'll score myself in a bit after the answers are up. Of course I am probably gonna do tomorrow's test for real.

I took one from yesterday I think and got ~29. Didn't do the actual test, just watched the YouTube. That's better than I usually do, which is around 22 or so. I missed a lot of the current events/ pop culture questions as I just don't keep up with **** anymore. Still nowhere near good enough to even bother taking the actual test.

No, Sputnik and Catch-22 are not for old people. Sputnik was an earth-shattering event while Catch-22 is a major major major novel. ;-)

I too had no knowledge of ammonia nor Rembrandt's wife, same with philosophy and Carole King. No issues otherwise.

What you score on this test has zero bearing over smart or dumb. It's trivia, some people know it, some do not. I know plenty of smart people who don't know this stuff, also know people who are excellent trivia players and don't have a clue about most other things.

Doesn't matter if you don't parse the question correctly though. If the question had the chemical symbols instead of names, I would have nailed it.

And besides, sometimes you have the knowledge and just can't pull it out. I struggled to pull Avatar until the last second!

took the thursday test, got 41 or 42 depending on one question. probably 41. luckily las vegas is an audition city this year. now i just need some luck.

I took it again this year, the Thursday one which was by far the easiest. Got 42 correct which is enough. Hope I get a callback which I've never gotten to this point.

Oh hey. I took the test this year, passed, got the email invite to a live audition for the first time, and apparently they liked me because they called me to tape in August. The episode aired on Oct. 17, and I won a couple shows!

I think I got 41 or 42 on the last test, but it is thought that 35 is the magic number. At the live audition we took two additional 50 question written tests, which I’m sure sufficiently screens out the cheaters.
