Villain UTG (~600)
Not quite a hero BB (~500)

Villain limps UTG 5
UTG +2 raises to 20 -- 3 callers
I'm BB with As9d and call
Villain calls. pot ~120.
Flop 10s9s9c - action checks through.
Turn 4h. Ready to bet when villain asks if I checked. Seemed very interested. MP opponent starts cutting out a bet. We both check. She bets $70.

I raise to $170 with the idea that there are many combo draws in opponents range. I think this was an error in hindsight especially since I held the A of spades and villain was giving off a lot of strength.

Villain flat calls my $170. MP folds. Pot ~530
River 7h. I jammed remaining ~310

I think I should've check called the river if there was a chance opponent turned missed draw into bluff. Don't think I'm getting called by many hands I beat now that I've thought it over. I also think he doesn't flat call with many big draws on a 1099 paired board vs BB.

Villain turns over 1010.

Anyways, thanks for your thoughts!

I think you played it right, I am not checking river in that situation

I think a river check is good. The only hands he is likely to have that call river that we're ahead of are 1 combo of J9s and 1 combo of 89s. He can reasonably have some suited spade broadways and 78ss that get here and bluff river. It's a close spot, I just don't think we're getting value from alot by betting.

I think you can consider leading this flop too. You can mix in leading with combo draws as well.

Fold pre. Both checking and betting the river are fine.

Fold preflop, otherwise a bet on the flop is mandatory given the texture

I think you are being a bit results oriented.. I prefer a bet on the flop that board is super wet lots of draws and I think if you size correctly (fairly small) you are going to get called by draws and worse 9s..

on the river i am not sure about your ship..your entire line looks pretty strong and I am not sure what is going to call that bet.. I would prefer to just go ahead an lead out something like $200 and hope to get hero called by a T...

i think a bet on the flop would be better since its so draw heavy and you get called lots of time.
River i would lead a little or check your hand not very many hands you get called.

Grunch

Fold or 3b pre I prefer fold

As played lead flop

As played lead turn

As played raise turn larger at least 250

River I agree with betting to get value from 9 especially when you block NFD

+1

be afraid when she checks the flop an wants to hurl money into the pot postflop. She didn't check J9 on the drawy board to let someone catch up....
