Which Book Is The Best To Start With? Which Book Is The Best To Start With?

Hello everyone,
In your opinion, which is the best to read and study as a first material if you are relatively new to MTT play....the original Harrington on Holdem series or his latest tournament book that was released last year?

I have both, just wondering which is the best to start with. I know his older series is a classic, yet the newer book is I'm sure more up to date. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks a lot!!!

If I had both and was going to read both, I would start with the older series. Now, that isn't to say you should play in the older style. But reading both will give you an idea on how he feels the game has evolved.

If you're saying don't play the older style, as the original series talks about, then I'm not really sure what the point would be of reading the original series at all. Wouldn't it be better to just read his latest book?

Understand that I haven't read his most recent book.

Thanks for the replies....and I totally get where you are coming from. I'am also hoping to hear from some players who have read both his older and new books and could tell me what they think as well.

Or I could get some additional replies from someone who actually READ the book and could give an intelligent answer on this. If you really don't have anything else to add you could just move on already.

Welcome to the boards, but I am not sure why you created this thread when you already created the other one and last posted in it around seven days ago.

And my answer was very intelligent. You asked the order you should read them. You did not ask if you should or shouldn't read them.

There is a difference.

Ok....fair enough. So if you were me, would you bother reading the original series or wouldn't bother?

Try to read "Polished poker" by John Anhalt. I think it's a good way to start learning poker. THe book is easy to read and contains a lot of useful information. In addition there's also a workbook with questions and tasks that help to better learn the material.
