Don't worry guys; I don't expect them to go bankrupt and flee the US market just yet!

I think it's fairly good news that we haven't heard anything yet today.

The lack of press release really makes me lean towards "not"

I'm not talking about little isolated incidents. I think having echecks and checks down for multiple sites simultaneously is rather unique. Sure, it's a huge processor and thus will affect the majority, but is the echeck processor the same company? I always thought it wasn't, but I could be mistaken.

I'm really hoping that this is just a 'bank' issue. Then it really would be just like the other times that we recovered from.

I THINK echecks/checks usually go down separately

the multiple site issue is super standard, however. they all use the same processors

I don't think they do.

They've gone down together in the past.

does anyone have any idea what so ever when the echeck option will be back up. Is it safe to say it would be back up within a day seeing as UB/AP is back up or was the UB AP echeck being down have nothing to do with the stars and tilt situation?

I wonder if it is possible that the check processor company is having a financial problem or they decided to skip town and retire early on the money in their account? another scandal brewing? or is it really a US government related issue...

Here goes the drama. Like everyone else ITT I log onto my bank account a few minutes ago to find both checking accounts each have a ledger balance, but an available balance of exactly zero.

WAMU was recently taken over by CHASE and instead of having a heart attack I did the rational thing and called the number on the website thinking there may be a snafu and I needed new atm cards or something silly.

I was told that the US Treasury Dept has frozen my accounts with some kind of subpoena order. I was trying to get the exact wording, but my heartrate kept going up. The US Treasury Dept is now in control of my checking accounts and the word subpoena was used two or three times.

I'm your average joe with an average job. Never participated in anything shady my entire life. My e-check cashout from Pokerstars was submitted and approved Sunday May 31st.

What is going on?? This is worse, much worse than the NetTeller boggle and cannot even be compared to the 3 or so recent hiccups with e-checks.

I'm screwed. My rent check will not clear when it hits the bank today. The lady told me to get off of direct deposit with my employer immediately. Those funds, when they hit the bank this coming Friday will be frozen as well.

I am thoroughly disgusted to call myself an American.

We don't know.

But people are still cashing checks from the processor in question that were drawn on other banks than the one that's frozen.

My account at WaMu/CHASE was frozen this morning as well.

I am going and pulling any cash I have in my BoA account right now, as I feel they are next. Not taking any chances until I know more whats going on.

--- update

WaMu is internal problem, but they are not sure what the problem is yet on their end. Called local bank and they said I could withdraw if I come in. Going to do that now.

Do we have updates from Pokerstars?

My check obviously didn't clear, but they said there would be updates today. I didnt get anything re-credited to my account or anything.

EDIT: Accounts being frozen has me a little worried. I'm with a local bank so hopefully its ok.

Isn't it also possible that PS/others froze the echeck system on purpose to stop people from panicking and pulling all their money due to the check issue?
