Obv I do agree that its really strange they need to make such a large cut on conversion fees. Its not like they wouldn't charge enough rake as it is...

Also about the jackpots that get posted even when not in the hands, obv its super annoying but technically 888 isn't stealing it as its added to the jackpot which you get when you win (lol). But yeah, it should obv get fixed.

As much as people sometime complain here about the jackpot, I for one hope they won't change it (just remove the 5 second delay between hands ffs). I see so many bad players who come there to play the jackpot. One fish even complained to me when we were HU at the table that I should raise him since he wants to play against the jackpot and not against me So if they change that they'll obv have less incentive to play poker.

As much flak as 888 is getting for different reasons (most of which I do agree with) I want to thank them for having a very decent software and for continuing to get new players to the site. Its impressive how much they managed to grow during the last year, and I guess they aren't just using our rake to pay fat rewards to the owners but actually do some marketing. So yeah, props to 888 for that.
If I take a dollar from your wallet while your sleeping to buy somebody else a lottery ticket I'm not a thief in your mind?

And with respect to the exchange rate thing, whats disturbing is when I deposit $100US they exchange it to $110CAD, for example, and take $110US from my Skrill account, where does that extra $10 go? While it may be an easy fix by contacting them its an obvious bug on their end and it shouldn't be happening in the first place.

They are downright stealing as they confirmed they take 20% from the jackpot

Do you mind telling me how you confirmed this? Mr. 888 Rep has told us a few times in this thread that they don't rake the jackpot.

Are the connection problems with 888 today just me?
The rest of my internet connection seems ok.
I bought into two SNGs and kept freezing me out so I couldn't play any hands.

Definitely agree and have stressed this point. Hopefully we can expect some changes in coming updates.

Without a doubt, the length of time it takes for some of these changes to kick in can be frustrating to say the least. There are major issues that are discussed in this thread that take too long to resolve, or remain unresolved.

However, the only reason for me being here is to try listen to you guys, bring your ideas back, and try to help in any way I can. I wish I could take the suggestions here and fix them right away, but that's just not the way it works. Most decisions go through a lengthy approval and implementation process. We just have to be patient and persistent if we want change.

So then, I call the number they gave me: 1-800-712-3000. Turns out this is a call center for Comcast, with a looping reception that gets me nowhere.

So then, I click around in the Cashier and find this number: +126 84844913. I misread that this is a 'toll number', not toll-free, and find out it's gonna cost me about 24 cents a minute for the privilege of speaking with Luckyace support.

So then, I speak with a lady, who informs me that I need to send documentation proving my identity and address. After having this account for 5 years, and dozens of deposits and cashouts.

Not even an email from LA informing me of this development. I had to track down and contact their support center to find out why my cashout is stuck 'In Process'.

888Rep, if you'd please forward this story to someone at 888/LA who cares, it would be appreciated.
That's gross mate. I'll pass it along. I'll get told that "LA operates independently of 888," but I will make sure they hear it anyways.

I'd like to know as well.

You have admittedly made unsubstantiated claims regarding the jackpot tables before that were inaccurate. If you are correct, I'll fully support you in getting your messages heard, however accusations do need to come with a bit of evidence.

I've just recently deposited on 888Poker but used to play there awhile ago (12mos.?, & stopped ~6mos. ago) as I'd cashed in a priv. freeroll for ~$200. I'd play on 888 for fun - a recreational account for when I felt like playing poker & didn't feel like taking it seriously (just micro 6nl & 2nl, playing on a bunch of tables & also some of the $10 mtt & stuff like $22 Mon.Chall.).

For the past few mos. I'd been considering making a deposit thinking I'd be adding in a few MTT's to my schedule (for when I'm playing MTT's). Now while I'm scrolling through the tournament lobby I'm finding very little mtt's I'm interested in playing (micro buyin, $5-$11.. & some $22). Tournaments have poor structure - - even the doublestack (3,000chip) ones, blinds reach 100/200 before 1st break. There's only 2 tournaments in the am (PT) that have decent structure, 12:30(est)a $3.80 buyin $2.5k guar., & 14:30(est) a $22 $7k guar. This seems alot different from when I'd browse the tourney lobby a yr. ago (I actually thought there were MANY $11 buyins that had ok structure then??). It's kinda disappointing to say the least. I was thinking/hoping I'd be able to add 6-10 mtt's in per day from 888 (1/hr. at least)... but doesn't seem like it now

Along those lines (low/micro buyin MTT structure) it looks like the Mon.Challenge ($22) is also only a 3,000chip (< which would be fine if blinds only reached 50/100 at break/1hr. break, but it's not... they're already 100/200 at break).

Why not add in a bunch of $5-$10 mtt's each hour with decent structure? A first look at the lobby & it appears that there's alot of tourneys but when I take a look at them, almost none of them are appealing to play for me (a micro/low buyin recreational MTT player). I'm a regular on another forum that has ALOT of micro & lower buyin players & know for sure that many more of them would be playing MTT's on 888Poker if they had more of them with a decent structure.

Am also bummed that there's an 8-table limit One of the things I liked about 888Poker in my previous experience on there was that I could load up a dozen micro cash tables & win at a rate far above other sites I play on. Being limited to just '8' makes it far less appealing to me.

This is , from the 888poker department.

Thank you for your email , kindly note that jackpot contributions are taken regardless of whether there is a showdown or not, this is the way jackpot tables usually work on all sites.

Also, thank you once again for highlighting the issue with the software currently taking the contribution while waiting for the BB, we are currently working on resolving this issue and are implementing a compensation mechanism to refund fully the affected players.

Please note that 888 contributes by seeding the initial $5k into the jackpot and that .40c of every .50c goes directly into the jackpot,

I trust this resolves your query , if you require further assistance in this or any other matter, please feel free to contact me.

Have a great evening further and good luck at the tables.

email from vip guy at 888, names been blocked out.

I made one claim that was inaccurate because your system in the poker software says money been refunded to your account if there's no showndown. Now the 888 VIp rep is telling me you guys rake jackpot even if there's no showndown. So which one is it? I found a 2nd bug, so no , im not making unsubstantiated claim about your software. After reporting it 3 or 4 times, your programmer finally acknowledge it.

You would be paranoid playing those tables too if the poker site cant even find the bugs themselves. Can we really trust 888 wont have any other bugs on these tables 100%?

I havent tried regular support@888poker etc in about a year so i cant help you with that, but my vip guys usually respond within 1day excluding weekends. My 1st VIP guy was the best support i ever had for any poker site combined, but he left last month, new guy isnt as quick to response .

Not sure how many points, probably more then 200k points last year.

Yes i play cash game there.
Pros con about 888

pros
good game section
good support if you're VIP
software ok
bonuses
average cashout time, suck the dont work on weekends...

cons
high rake $4 cap
no refund for collusion/bot
bad support if you're regular.
8 table limits, you should be able to open more and just watch the table.I dont mind the 8 table limit , but let us open more just to view. I play up to 6 tables sometimes, but sucks i cant open like 4 more just to view and change tables if needed.
currency exchange rate , the worst i ever seen for any poker sites

No offense to the 888 Rep, but he doesnt have the inside info like we think he does. I appreciate the job hes doing, but he doesnt seem to have the pull with 888 regarding the hard issues, complaints from customers thru out the year. He's more like the middleman for them, or player's advocate on by half of 888. Didnt he say he doesnt work for them personally? .Usually some genetic response like im working on it for hard question that matters.

They are not bots, i have played many of them before, mostly drunk after a night out - as i only play them then - i know if i was sober i would have little edge if any of over these players! But they are definitely not bots, they just dont talk to you because they focus on the game and/or they are multi tabling.

Does this mean .40c of every .50c goes into the JP until they get the initial $5k back or are they effectively raking 20% of the JP?

I'm sure there are quite a few people who have gotten help through this thread, and via PM that would disagree with you.

However contacting support, whether it's e-mail, phone or live chat, would solve many of the issues that I deal with here. So you are right in that aspect.

I forwarded on your issue along with your HH's, as it is valid, and it has been passed on to the tech department.

As soon as I hear back, you'll know. However bumping your own posts, and threatening to start slanderous threads isn't going to motivate or inspire quicker action.
